Being the fitness buff that I am, I have made it a point to introduce all aspects of fitness in my classes. Particularly, aerobic exercise and muscular strength/endurance exercises have been the main focus. The pedometers will be used to supplement the students' ability to track their physical activity levels in and outside of the classroom, while the medicine balls will allow me to introduce more solo/partner muscular strength/endurance exercises. The students are not familiar with pedometers and have limited experience with medicine balls due to having access to only 1 cracked one. Being introduced to new things always helps students stay more engaged. Giving the students the opportunity to handle equipment that they would not normally get the chance to allows them to learn lifelong skills.
