Palette Payback: Portfolios Help Paint a Brighter Future!
Funded Nov 28, 2023Dear Donors,
We are immensely grateful for your generous support in providing our students with the AP art supplies and portfolios. Your contribution has already begun to make a significant impact on their artistic journeys and educational experiences.
As soon as our students laid eyes on the new materials, their excitement was palpable. Their faces lit up with enthusiasm and anticipation, eager to dive into the possibilities these supplies offer. Witnessing their reactions was truly heartwarming and served as a reminder of the transformative power of access to quality resources.
Since receiving the supplies, our classroom has been buzzing with creativity and exploration. One specific project that has captured the imagination of our students is a mixed-media assignment where they are tasked with creating self-portraits using various techniques learned through our discussions and hands-on classes. With the high-quality painting supplies and portfolios at their disposal, they have been able to experiment fearlessly, pushing the boundaries of their creativity and technical skills.
Looking ahead, the next steps for our students involve refining their self-portraits, incorporating personalized feedback, and preparing their portfolios for presentation. As they continue to work on this project, they will not only enhance their artistic abilities but also develop critical thinking skills and effective communication strategies.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and belief in the power of arts education. Your support is empowering our students to excel and embrace their artistic talents fully. Together, we are nurturing the next generation of skilled artists, critical thinkers, and effective communicators.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Mangold

Funded Nov 2, 2023The impact of the painting supplies on my students has been truly transformative. With these new resources at our disposal, we've been able to embark on exciting artistic journeys that have sparked creativity and innovation in the classroom.
One specific project that stands out is our exploration of impressionist painting techniques. Armed with the new brushes, paints, and canvases, my students dove into the world of impressionism, studying the works of renowned artists like Monet and Renoir. They experimented with brushwork, capturing the essence of fleeting moments through bold strokes and vibrant colors.
The moment my students first laid eyes on the materials was nothing short of magical. Their faces lit up with excitement and anticipation as they realized the endless possibilities that awaited them. There was a palpable buzz of energy in the room as they eagerly began planning their projects and envisioning the masterpieces they would create.
As for the next steps in our current classroom lesson, we're delving deeper into the concept of composition in art. Building on the foundational techniques they've learned, my students will explore how arrangement, balance, and focal points contribute to the overall impact of a painting. Guided by demonstrations and hands-on practice, they'll apply these principles to their own works, refining their skills and unleashing their creativity in new and exciting ways.
With the continued support of generous donors like yours, my students will have the opportunity to further explore their artistic passions and continue their journey of self-discovery through the power of art education.”

As an art teacher, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to teach high school students all about art. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have various reasons for enjoying art, including expressing their creativity, learning about themselves and others, discovering how to communicate visually, and as a way to de-stress.
Thanks to your grant, we were able to purchase high-quality drawing supplies, including colored pencils, pastels, and quality rulers. These materials have given my students more choices to create unique and individualized artworks, and have inspired them to experiment with different techniques and mediums.
Your support has not only provided us with the necessary materials for our art class, but it has also given my students a creative outlet to express themselves and develop their skills. They are inspired by your support and are eager to continue exploring their creativity through these new opportunities.

Funded Oct 28, 2022I would like to share with you the incredible impact that my program "Adaptive Art!" has had on the special needs students in my classrooms. As you may know, this program was specifically designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, and I am thrilled to report that it has been incredibly successful.
One of the most noticable changes that I have seen in my students is a significant improvement in their confidence and self-esteem. Many of the students I work with have struggled with social interactions and have felt isolated from their peers. Through our art program, they have been able to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment, and as a result, they have become more comfortable.
Another area where I have seen great progress is in their fine motor skills. Students with disabilities often struggle with hand-eye coordination and other motor skills, which can make it difficult for them to complete everyday tasks. With these new materials, we have focused on activities that help them to build these skills, such as painting, drawing and using scissors. As a result, many of my students have shown significant improvement in their abiltiy to perform tasks that were once challenging for them.
Overall, I am incredibly proud of the progress my students have made with the use of these new materials. It has been a joy to see them grow in confidence, develop new skills , and become more engaged in their learning. I am confident that this program will continue to have a positive impact on their lives and am grateful for the opportunity to work with such wonderful students.”
