This classroom project was brought to life by Volkswagen and one other donor.School Supplies
Funded Aug 24, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation. With your donation we had large amount of chart paper. My students work in groups and do presentations using chart paper.Chart paper is very essential for us to do projects.
We are also able to have pencil sharpeners in the classroom.Students always use sharpener consistently and I do not want them to waste in walking around to different classrooms to get ready for instruction.Having a sharpener in the classroom cuts waste time and we could spend quality time in learning.
Thanks so much for considering my students and supporting their education”

Keep Us Warm
Funded Feb 25, 2018I am glad to see that my project'Keep us warm' got fully funded. Within couple of weeks we got the materials .It was so exciting to see the materials coming to class. The students were excited to see hats and gloves..My students are so happy and excited to see the snacks. My students come from different countries and they do not like the breakfast or specific foods provided in school. They remain hungry throughout the school. It is impossible for learning to take place when they are hungry. When I started giving snacks to the students i saw the students being energized and the productivity increased.
Some of my students are from refugee camps and live alone in foster homes or in shelters. They were happy to see the snacks being provided to them. One of my student have two kids. This girl comes to school everyday but has responsibility at home.I gave her snacks to take home. She was so happy and came back and said that her kids liked the snacks.I felt so happy that I could make some one happy through this project. One of my student have immigration problems and it is pathetic to see him in a worried and tense mood always. He was happy to take boxes of snacks to home.We also got shampoos and conditioners.Students were glad to take shampoos and conditioners as some of them are not in a position to buy them.We got 20 umbrellas.Students were excited to get those umbrellas and I feel happy whenever they use those umbrellas .
I am thankful to all donors for making some kids happy.I asked my students to write 'thanks notes ' and many said 'God bless you' to all the donors.
Truly I also want to say 'God bless you all' for all your support.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The First Million Fund and 9 other donors.ESOL Students
Funded Sep 18, 2017Thank you so much for funding to my classroom resources project. We are grateful to your donation. It is a known fact that we teachers always have to search for classroom materials . I always struggle with insufficient materials. I want my students to be in a classroom with all available materials around them.I want to run classroom smoothly with all necessary supplies at my fingertips. There are numerous occasion when I have to look around for construction charts, color pencils, glue etc...
I always wanted students to possess a binder of their own to keep all papers books and required materials safely in the binder.I wanted my ESOL students to use composition books as Math dictionaries.I prefer students taking exams in small composition books which helps me,students, parents and counselors to see the progress. It was always a difficult situation where students lose their test papers or put them in trash .Now,with these examination books I have all their tests placed in one book .
Color pencils, markers, sharpener, stapler, glue sticks are all very necessary items which are basic as well as necessary items.
I am thankful to all of you for your generous donation. My students are so happy to have an organized and structured classroom with all necessary supplies”

Funded Jul 16, 2016I wanted to learn the language of coding and teach my students the computer language skills. The cost of course and stipend was a large amount.I hesitated to post the project as I did not expect that it gets funded. It is really a great surprise to me to see that some one gave more than $2000.It is unbelievable and I am so grateful to the donor and I promise that the knowledge I learn through this course will be properly shared with my students.
I am equally grateful to other donors also as the project will not be completed funded without your generous help.
It is really a surprise to me to see that there are people like you all who trust in education and invest your money to educate the students .
Again,my sincere thanks to all of you.”

Funded Dec 5, 2015The students were thrilled to see the resources which they got through your generous donation. They were excited and it is a joy that they could use them in their classes .The whiteboards and markers are so helpful that my ESOL students use them to practice their math problems and vocabulary. The whiteboards have graphs on one side.Students need lot of practice in graphing equations.Students consume lot of graph papers while they are practicing. These boards came in handy. The graphing skills of my students improved a lot.
Having a pencil sharpener in the class saves so much time.My students used to walk to other classes to sharpen their pencils. Now that we have one sharpener they are so comfortable, enjoying the privilege and getting their work done on time.
Through this donation we received the materials which we needed on a regular basis in our classroom. These materials certainly improved the productivity of our children.
I and my students are thankful to you for making our classroom more engaging and interactive.”
