Clay, pound for pound(no pun intended) is so simple for me as the instructor to teach and for students to use to develop eye and hand coordination. It redirects that frenetic energy that students have into totally positive directions. This season we have been looking at many art works on themes such as still life's and landscapes. I use these projects in tandem with drawing and painting projects on related themes. That affords students a chance to really think, observe and design on this kind of subject matter. This entire year I have gotten positive reviews from staff and parents.
