Students are only given one excerpt from these books to understand characters. They continually ask what happens to the characters at the end of the story. By having these books the children can learn an in depth character analysis which is an integral part of the third grade ELA curriculum. By reading the books, "The Lemonade War" and "The Lemonade Crime," we will be able to understand what motivates the central characters to act as they do. Students will be able to see how characters change and develop throughout the story. This will be used to strengthen the ReadyGen curriculum that is currently in use by our school.
