  • Bright Colors Engage Students

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

My students were ecstatic when the printer arrived! They could not wait to see something printed from it. We had awards for students who made the honor roll and instead of their certificates being black and white, like they normally were, they were so excited that they were colored this time! I have been able to print colored illustrations, colored word-wall signs for math, and decorate bulletins boards with awesome pops of color! Students love seeing these bright colors added to our classroom. We have also made graphs on worksheets that now include color which makes them more engaging for students. Thank you so much for donating to this great cause!”

  • Small Groups For Big Time Learning

    Funded Jun 28, 2019

This table has been a huge help in my classroom. I am able to easily meet with small groups. Being able to have a few students in front of me to work one on one has been awesome! My students love the attention and help that I am able to provide them. When my students came to class on the first day of school, the table was new to them, but they automatically loved it. I told them that we would be working as groups in the class and that one group at a time would come to the back and work with me at the small group table which they were very excited about. I already have started a new project for a color printer which I hope is completed soon!”

  • Flexible Seating for Small Groups

    Funded Aug 14, 2018

Every Tuesday and Thursday, students in math class are pulled four at a time to work in a small group. Monday through Thursday, I have an RTI group that comes in to practice math skills in which I pull students to work in a small group. At the beginning of the school year, I thought that I would have plenty of chairs for students to be pulled to small group. Our school has grown so much, that I ended up having the max amount of students in my class, so all of my chairs are taken. Having these stools allow students a flexible seating option to use during these small group times.

When the maintenance man walked in my classroom with a large box, my students were so excited and could not wait for me to open the box. They all wanted to test the new stools out.

In the future, I would like to add even more flexible seating options in my classroom. I would also like to look into different STEAM projects for our science class. Donors Choose has been great to us and we cannot wait to start our next project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fennell

My students spend a lot of time learning in small groups. With these stools, the students will be able to join together at the small group table more comfortably. Small group learning is vital and having flexible seating during this time increases attentiveness in students. Students need to be able to experience flexible seating even if they are in a first year teacher's classroom that doesn't have as many resources as a veteran teacher has. My students will enjoy a difference in seating within the classroom. I feel these stools will help the students feel like small group time is more special because the seating is different from the rest of the class' seating.
