My students need something that will increase their comprehension skills. They are hard workers especially when they are reading something they truly enjoy. I think with a book like this it will really help them understand the different type of text. I have some books in my library and most of them have read them. Holes is something different for them and I believe they will really enjoy the story and what happens. The donations from this project will not only give me a chance to read this book with my students but it will also give my students a chance to enhance their comprehension skills!
The way I plan to implement this novel in my classroom is by each day we will set about 20 minutes to read and discuss what is going on on the story. We will predict what we think may happen next and I will ask student comprehension questions that will show me how they understand the events on the story. They will also have group discussions on the book after we read each chapter.
Students will have a notebook where they put all their responses and predictions in.
