As we are coming back to in-person learning, I have found research and other self-lead projects have helped bring the excitement and inspiration back into the learning process for many of these students. The books that I am asking for would be used, specifically, in the research of human rights leaders and other people who have made the world a better place. The hope is that this project will help these students see that just like these individuals they are learning about can make the world a better place, so can they. The other supplies of whiteboards, headphones, and whiteboard markers will help class run much smoother. Unfortunately, the pandemic lead to lack of supplies and supplies that were not durable for the 6th grade lifestyle (shocker). As a result, our whiteboards, markers, and headphones have worn out, broken, and aren't performing to the standards that they once were at. Having these supplies would help in math time as the student love showing their work on their whiteboards, and the headphones would be used in individualized math programs online, going through science simulations online, and watching videos as a part of their research for their human rights project and country reports they will be completing by the end of the year.
