    Thank you so much for helping my students. The excitement in their eyes was priceless when I took out the astronaut projectors. They have not stopped requesting to use them after we complete our read-alouds in class. They are working to earn the Projectors after completing their classwork.

    It has greatly helped them to remain focused and complete their daily schedules. They are motivated and it has increased their speech and language skills. They are engaging with each other and making comments with each other.

    We have been enjoying using them everyday after linch and they will each be taking them home in June. Thank you so much for sparking their interests and making learning motivating and fun for my students.”

  • Adapted Books and Visuals Needed

    I want to thank you all for your support in purchasing a teachers pay teachers gift card. I was able to purchase various adapted books, social stories and schedules that have helped my students achieve their goals academically and socially.

    The social stories have helped the students communicate and get through challenging behaviors due to their speech and language deficits. The schedules provided each of them with visuals on various levels based on their needs. It has helped them get through the day and earn stars to gain access to

  • Help My Students Learn With Sensory

    I wish you all could have heard and seen the excitement when I shared all the new sensory items! The kids have been using them daily. It has been a great motivator in helping the kids complete their daily work. It has especially helped with diminish afternoon behaviors as we are waiting for parents and busses to arrive.     This note is a small token of my gratitude. All the wonderful math manipulative's have made learning math so much easier for my students. We have used the Unifix&Cube, See & Solve Manipulative Kit and Fact Family Kit for the past several weeks and we love them!!

    I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for learning through play! Because of these tools my students are more actively engaged and their desire to learn more is growing!

My special needs students are all diagnosed with Autism. They attend school in the Northern section of the Bronx. All of our students receive free or reduced lunch. They face many challenges on a daily basis (physically, socially and academically). It is very difficult to find appropriate supplies to motivate and cater to their needs. My students are in a 6:1:1 self-contained classroom setting. They receive speech and language therapy occupational therapy and physical therapy. They range in ages from 6-7. Although they are of varying abilities, each of them show great interest in math- related activities. Hands on materials/projects prove to be effective teaching tools in my classroom.
