  • Art, the Best Form of Expression

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

This project will enable us to do hundreds of projects for the rest of the year. The most important projects are the end of the year art show and Mother's Day portraits. My students were so excited when the new paint arrived. I felt like Santa at Christmas. We started to use it right away. The quality of materials in this project allows me to have in the classroom is a blessing.

We will continue to develop our fine motor skills with paintbrushes. The children have been planning what to put on their canvas. The craft sticks will be used next month to identify each child's pot for the end of year take home garden.

Thank you again for donating to this project. I am grateful for your support in helping my students express themselves artistically.”

  • STEM Materials to Start the Year

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

    The

The recent addition of new materials has allowed us to make more tools reusable for our classroom. We now practice name writing with different prompts that can be laminated for repeated use. The shaky eggs are used on a regular basis to move to the music. This has also allowed us to learn positional words with the eggs. The wiggly eyes have allowed expression to become part of our artwork. They have added a 3-D effect. We are going to use the cubes for our year end project. It is nice to have supplies always on hand to complete our studies.

These donations have brought so much joy to the children as well as my team. The laminating sheets alone have allowed us to save artwork, display more in the hallway and reuse for many years to come.

I truly appreciate all the donations. The generosity will be felt for years to come.”

  • Laminate It- Stick It- Bag It

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

I am so happy to have dry erase markers for every student in the classroom. The students use them on a daily basis. The hanging folders have allowed me to keep everything tidy and at easy reach for the students to get their work.

The artwork is easily laminated. The larger laminating sleeves allow for more work to be saved. It will be great to send home the artwork at the end of school year.

The magnetic stubbys allow me to keep everything in one place. I don't search for a stapler or dry erase marker. It is a safe and convenient place.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cottom

  • Lets Get Ready to Build and Count!

    Funded Mar 11, 2022

My students are active hands on learners. The completion of this recent project has started an increase interest in learning counting and building. I have seen an increase in creativity in using the new additions to our classroom they come into the classroom looking to use these materials. We have started a signup sheet so all students can have a turn. We love our Magna Tiles. The students play with them every day! They request the camera to take pictures of all of their creations. We have made pizzas, towers, pony barns; the list goes on and on. The cash register has helped us practice counting our money; buy the groceries for babies and super heroes.

Your generosity has allowed my students to use their fine motor skills daily. We are practicing our counting. They sort money, tiles by color and quantify daily.

I am forever grateful for your generosity. I could never have imagined the impact these materials have had on my classroom. It has renewed interest in building and counting. These students get to experience materials that would have never been possible without your kindness. If you could only see the excitement on their faces as they play with these materials.”

  • Math Can Be Fun When It Is Hands-On!

    Funded Jan 28, 2021

We received these backpacks during our virtual learning time for the school year. The students were excited when I dropped them off at their door. The bags were great hands on materials. The students eagerly awaited for our class to start to open the bags. The pattern puzzles helped the children understand how patterns work. We were able to use the other materials in the bag to make our patterns. The books were great during our morning ciricle. We read the book "together". It helped with our book handling skills.

Every Friday the students brought the Wikki Stix to class. We made many things from our stix.

I am truly grateful to have those backpacks duirng our virtual time. It kept the families involved.”

  • Imagine and Play

    Funded Dec 3, 2020

My dramatic play center has been reborn. The students eagerly wait their turn to go play. They have improved their fine motor skills as they dress and undress the new babies. There is a baby for everyone in dramatic play. They make coffee as they feed their babies.

When we read 3 Little Pigs, the students can recreate the story with the puppets using silly voices. They have created their own 3 Little Pigs problem solving scenarios. The pigs have gotten a lot of use!

The Super Heros Capes are going on new adventures daily. The students have improved their turn taking skills as they wait to fly away.

My class improved their social interactions. The biggest benefit of all our new toys.”

  • As We Evolve Our Classrooms Should Too

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Our classroom has been invigorated by the new paint in our room. It is refreshing to come in a bright workplace. My students love the hot air balloons hanging from the ceiling. I proudly display all the birthdays on our new decorations. The children look every month to see who's birthday it is for the new month.

The transformation from our drab room to a bright inviting room has improved everyone's attitude. I can't tell you enough how grateful I am to have a new room.

I can't wait next year to put up all the decorations for our new classroom. The adventure awaits all who enter.”

  • Everything Should Have a Place

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

We use the bin everyday to keep put things away. It helps the class learn a routine when everything has a place. All the bins being the same color has made the room pleasing to the eye. All the bins are clear. It helps the students to see what is in the bin so not to mix things.

I use the large totes to put in our large leg sets. It helps to have bins that everything fits and the lid closes. The students are using their fine motor skills as they clean up. A student who cleans up is a happy student. They are contributing to the working of the classroom.

Something as simple as bins have changed our dynamic. We clean up quick with less tears. Everything has a place.”

These items will help young bodies get moving and help promote a healthy lifestyle through exercise. My students like music but lack the tools to make their own. The CD will help us learn the alphabet and get moving in a fun way. In our classroom we have three children with special needs and the materials I am requesting will provide them with unlimited opportunities to express themselves through music. The blue tooth speaker will provide the sound quality needed to ensure that all children are able to listen to the music and follow along. The shake and move rhythm bells will provide the children with a fun opportunity to move to music that they make. The Rhythm sticks will provide endless activities to help with learning music and making smooth transitions between activities. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my students and the needs of our classroom.
