Table and Chairs for Small Group Activities
Funded Dec 23, 2022The table and chairs are working out wonderfully. I am able to work with my students in smaller groups and can give extra attention to the students who are struggling. They can also work together on more demanding assignments.
When the students first saw the table and chairs, they wondered what they were for and began asking about them. I let them know that their purpose was to allow me to work more closely with them and give more attention and help to those who need it.
Next, we will be working on putting our binders in order. Some students have a difficult time with this, so sitting with a few at a time will be very beneficial.
Thank you so much for donating to my project and in turn donating to my students. I truly appreciate your generosity.”
With gratitude,

Make My Classroom Library Pop
Funded Jun 4, 2022Thank you so much for these wonderful books! My students generally do not enjoy reading. They think of it as a chore rather than something pleasurable. With your generous donations, I was able to purchase high-interest level books and the kids are really enjoying them. Some have even asked if they could take them home to read.
In each class, we read for the first 25 minutes. At the end of the 25 minutes, the students write a brief description of what they read. This way, they are working on their summarizing skills as well as identifying the main idea. These are very important skills to develop and improve.
Some of my lower-level students are absolutely enjoying the graphic novels. Some have already finished one book and have moved on to another. They don't really feel like they are reading when it's a graphic novel because they are very interesting and, of course, have pictures. They are developing a love for reading which is the best gift that can be given.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Murphy
