With these items my students will be able to release frustration and stress in appropriate ways and learn social skills that are needed for every day life. The sensory items will provide the sensory input children with autism crave. Some of my students on the autism spectrum crave tactile sensory, which is when they seek out tactile sensory experiences so the sensory table and magic sand would satisfy this sensory need. Some of my students have proprioception needs. This is when they have the tendency to stomp, tread heavy and sit down hard for impact. This is where the peapod pillow will help as well as the cylinder sensory foam will help. The socials skills materials, like the board game, cards for calm, and temper in a jar are needed will help with different scenarios my students may be faced with and will help them cope and deal with those situations appropriately.
