  • STEM in the SPED World

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and allowing us to purchase new STEM projects for our classroom. The students were very eager to get started using our projects instead of waiting next year. So, we had to open the Fairy Tales Stem projects and build them. Even though the students are in 8th-12th grade there was lots of laughter and trying really hard to complete the STEM projects. The students even thought the little fairy tale characters were fun to play with as well. Thank you again for bringing joy into my classroom through fun STEM projects.”

  • One Step Towards Confidence

    Funded May 25, 2023

Thank you so much for donating money and helping fund out project. Our students were so grateful and excited to get the new tennis shoes for sports. It has helped them build confidence and not worry about having to play and not get hurt. They were also very excited to show them off to the rest of the their team members. Parents are also very appreciative of the generosity of complete strangers to help their children be more successful in school and sports. Thank you again for believing in us and supporting our work.”

  • Best of the Best for Financial Literacy 2022

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our project about financial literacy. We have used these books for several different units to discuss financial literacy, how to start up a small business, and difference in cash and debit cards. My students are always eager to learn about real world experiences and how to relate it to their life. We read the story about lemonade and made lemonade to sale to our classmates. We discussed how to make different flavors and what would our profits be if we were able to sale them. Again, thank you for supporting our project.”

  • Winners Win with Healthy Snacks & Hygiene

    Funded Jan 30, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our project. We were able to already hand out the hygiene kits during our most recent overnight stay for Special Olympics. We also were able to take the first aid kit with us and have it available on the sidelines in case we might have an accident. This was the first event that we didn't have zip lock bags full of Band-Aids and tape. All of the students were excited to unpack the healthy snacks and store them in our closet. We play in the semi-finals for unified basketball and will leave super early so these snacks will be used to help feed students on the bus on the way to the game. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Taco's, Noodle's, & Cookie Economics

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for making this project possible. My class enjoyed reading about how Ramen Noodles were invented and even enjoyed having them for a snack in class. We all had different ideas about how long it takes to cook the noodles in the microwave and which taste better on the stove or in the microwave. The students extended their learning by inventing their own flavor and it could not be one that was already being sold in stores. Although, we did not bake cookies or cook tacos we did enjoy reading about them and eating them while we shared our thoughts afterwards. Thank you again so much for supporting my classroom and making this project possible.”

  • The Lemonade War: Are You a Saver or Spender?

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our project. The students loved listening to The Lemonade Wars book and looking forward to reading the rest of the series when school starts back. We have also enjoyed making the lemonade on the hot days towards the end of the school year. Lemonade has helped us learn a lot about economics and budgeting. Other students not in our class also enjoyed the lemonade that was made and even offered ideas as to what we could add to the lemonades to make different flavors.”

  • DIAL Up Your Friends We Are Staying Fresh and Clean!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you for helping fund this project. My students are very excited to get new personal hygiene items that they are able to take home with them. During this pandemic several of my students parents are struggling to make ends meet and by providing the essentials helps out just a little. It also helps build students confidence level. We have been working on completing personal hygiene checklists in the classroom and at home. The students work really hard to complete the checklists so that they can get a reward. Thank you again for helping us make this project possible and combat illnesses.”

  • Football Practice + Economics = Healthy Incentives

    Funded Sep 10, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our project! The football team is very appreciative of the new igloo and Gatorade packets that were funded. My students in my classroom are also appreciative of the extra work they are getting to help support the football players while they are working out. The students and football players are both learning important messages about working together and learning basic entrepreneurship. We could not have made this project possible without you. Thank you again so much!”

  • Toy Trailblazers Leading the Way to Entrepreneurship!

    Funded Oct 29, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our project. My students were so excited to get new books. I have attended several professional developments where other teachers love these books and all the possibilities they have to offer. I have been sharing this information with kids and they are eager to get started on them. I plan on using these books to help teach an economics lesson about all of the toys mentioned in the set and how these toys impacted the economy. We will compare the economic impact now compared to when the toys were introduced. Thank you again!”

  • I'm Only One Sneeze AWAY!

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our project and make it happen. I was able to purchase enough Kleenex's that I was able to share with all of the neighboring teachers. They were also very appreciative as well because not a lot of people donate Kleenex's to stuff the bus or purchase willingly. Also, with the students not required to wear face masks this year I have noticed that we are using more Kleenex then normal. Maybe it's a coincidence? Maybe it's just allergies and seasonal colds. But, we couldn't thank you all enough for donating and providing us with gentle tissue for our precious noses!”

    Ms. Stewart

The items I am requesting for donation will help create a kitchen that will be our very own for transition classes to use instead of having to share with the home economics class. We have been provided with a empty kitchen on another campus that we will be able to utilize whenever we need it, but it is completely empty and we must start from nothing and build it up. I have requested a refrigerator, stove, and microwaves to add to our kitchen so that students will be able to learn how to cook in any circumstance they are faced with, this transition class will also help give students with disabilities the knowledge and skill set to help them become working citizens in the community. It will also teach them skills like time management, interview skills, safety skills, and food handling skills. All of these skills will help my students be able to find a job within the community without having to be dependent on others 100% of the time.
