  • Taste of the Best Apple-Filled Pi

    Thank you so much for fulfilling my project! Working from home during Covid was a new, challenging experience. I had to reset my teaching style and preference to meet the needs of my students who were learning from home. With this laptop, I was able to incorporate variety of online learning platforms such as flipgrid, Jamboard, nearpod, desmos and so much more. This allowed my students to stay engaged and helped them connect to other students remotely. I was able to check for their understanding and provide instant feedback. Thank you so much for your support and giving me the tool to navigate through remote learning!”

  • Interactive Virtual Math Class is Possible!

    Thank you so much for supporting my first project on Donors Choose. I am humbled and grateful to be supported by all of you.

    Upon receiving my iPad, I have experimented with many different online teaching platforms and strategies to best reach my students. It was a learning process and quite honestly, it still is.

    First of all, I use the iPad to present my daily lesson using a note-taking app. I can easily access my lessons that are saved on google drive and teach it as if I am presenting it to them in the classroom.

    Another great feature that works only on the iPad is to open and comment directly on student's work. I can correct their mistakes or provide personalized feedback to each and every student.

    Lastly, I use an online app that allows me to check student understanding in real time. I use various tasks to keep students engaged and learning. I can also choose student work to go over with the rest of the class. It is truly amazing.

    Without your support, I really don't think that all of this would have been possible. Thank you once again for your generous donations. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this pandemic.”

Classroom teaching and virtual teaching is very different. I want to bring the same level of energetic and interactive learning to the students through an iPad. My students want to experience a fun and engaging lesson. With the use of an iPad to readily and easily access many online learning platforms, I know that my 175 students will be engaged and kept accountable throughout the duration of virtual learning.
