In today's classroom it is vital that our students have hands on experiences in order to better contextualize mathematical and scientific problem solving. By providing graphing calculators to my students, we will be able to analyze and investigate mathematical functions in real world situations. Students will use the calculators to better understand functions, algebraic principles and graphical representations of Scientific and Math concepts. Graphing calculators have been utilized numerous times with great success in helping our students become mathematically sound and to be able to better understand the connections in real world scenarios. Graphing calculators are an approved device in Standardized testing as well as College Entrance exams. The more practice students have with working with this tool, the better probability they will have in understanding concepts on these high stakes testing encounters. Eventually, I would like to be able to provide my students with 1 to 1 usage with this important technology learning instrument. My students are not financially able to provide this instrument on their own. Unfortunately, school budgets continue to be cut each year. We are a Title I high school and I would like to provide my students with equal technological and STEM learning activities as students from schools that have more resources. I am confident that my students would benefit greatly from the requested Technological advancements in their learning.
