  • Arts and Crafts Culmination

    Funded May 14, 2022

My students absolutely had fun with the Twisteez. They made their own designs. One them made friendship bracelets for her and her best friend. They were entertained and relaxed, especially on the last week of school when they are eagerly waiting their culmination ceremony.

The coal black cards came in handy as some of the students wrote farewell and thank you letters to their teachers. They liked writing on them with some metallic markers I had from another project. The markers made the card stand out with cool, metallic colors.

These activities would not have been possible without your generous donation. I want to truly thank you on behalf of my students. Thank you for supporting teacher and their commitment and passion towards their students.”

  • Class of 2022 Insta-Memories

    Funded May 3, 2022

My students absolutely loved taking pictures with their friends. They were able to make last end of year memories with their friends. They quickly put their pictures on their phone case.

The Class of 2022 props added fun to their pictures. I feel like the pictures really helped them emotionally as it was the last week of school. I am sure they will treasure their pictures and hold on to them dearly.

They would not have had this wonderful experience without your generous donations. I am truly grateful and would like to thank you on behalf of my amazing students.”

  • Relaxing Mandala Art

    Funded May 6, 2022

My students had fun using the mandala paper and metallic markers. On the last week of school, they were eagerly waiting their culmination. They were restless but socializing and coloring with their classmates made time fly.

When I told them I had these cool metallic markers and mandala paper, they were ecstatic. They colored for two period and on the third, a few students asked if I had more Mandala paper and the metallic pens.

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your contributions made my students feel happy. This activity was extremely helpful for their culmination ceremony anxiety and stress levels. It really helped them relax.”

  • More Than Meets The Eye

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

My students loved the digital microscopes. They felt "rich" using digital microscopes as opposed to the traditional school microscopes. They were so excited to see what they put under the microscope in an LCD screen. They especially loved to be able to print some of their captured screenshots that the digital microscopes offers. A female student asked me if this is what real scientists used and I told her "yes". She said she might want to be a scientist when she grows up. I only hope I sparked an interest in her in the field of STEAM and pursues a career as a microbiologist.”

  • Science Cricut #2

    Funded Jul 31, 2019

My students used the Cricut to create various projects. Having different types of colored vinyl helped them be expressive and creative. At times, they created projects using card stock paper or thick, scrapbook paper. They would insert it in the plastic cover of their folders. They also used vinyl, sticker paper and placed their designs on their folders.

A great project they enjoyed was when they designed their names and put them on their reusable water bottle. We made them for Earth Day since this year's theme was on "Investing in our planet". Some students added pictures of the Earth or small quotes on their water bottles.”

Most of the students I work with lack social skills due to their special needs. Their disability impairs their ability to read or write. Often times, they do not have high self-esteem and lack motivation. With this project, they will learn the skills they need to search for words they do not know how to write that will go on the buttons. They will build cooperation and collaboration skills as they work together making the buttons with a button maker. Most importantly, by presenting to other science classes and handing out buttons, it will give them an opportunity to raise their self-esteem and make new friends along the way.
