  • Help Us To Succeed While We Read With The King Schools Kids!

    Funded Jun 11, 2011

I would like to thank you you for your generous donation and support for my project "Help Us To Succeed While We Read With The King Schools Kids." I am so glad someone shares my vision of having the right reading materials so the children can fall in love with reading at an early age.

The children love these books because it is a series that deals with topics that the children are familiar with. The children get to follow the same characters throughout the series which helps hold their attention while learning. The children can not wait to read what happens to their favorite characters in the upcoming books. These books will help the children with understanding what a main character is, where the stories are taking place (setting), and to compare and contrast the characters in the story. They are easy to read so the children will feel confident enough to begin reading independently.

Thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. Without generous people like you my job would be a lot harder.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Comfort

  • Creating Beautiful Learners!!

    Funded Dec 31, 2010

Thank you very much for your generous donation and for supporting my project "Creating Beautiful Learners". I am so glad that you share my idea that children need art in school.

My class loves to create new things daily, however, with the limited amount of schools supplies it is had to complete many projects. The students were very excited when they saw the glitter, pipe cleaners, tissue paper, and pom poms. We are going to watch the life cycle of a frog and butterfly so we plan on using the bug craft kit to end the observations of the life cycle.

I cannot thank you enough for you generous donation. It is people like you, that make my job easier.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Comfort

  • Readers Succeed With Guided Reading

    Funded Oct 10, 2010

Thank you for your generous donation and support for my project "Readers Succeed With Guided Reading." I am so glad someone shares my vision of having the right materials to do small group instruction.

This table is great for guided reading because it is kidney shaped which allows the children to sit in front of me, so I can reach all the children in the group at one time. The whiteboard is placed behind me so that the children can see what I am writing. It will also allow the children to work independently while reading or writing.

Thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom. I hope to reach all learners through the use of small groups. This table will help both my current and future students. Without generous people like you, my job would be much harder.”

  • Reading Is Fun With The Tag Reading System

    Funded Dec 28, 2010

Thank you for your generous donation to my project Reading Is Fun With The Tag Reading System. My students will benefit greatly by having this reading system. They will be able to listen to stories that interest them and when ready will be able to read the stories on their own or with support. My students will be able to gain the confidence they need to read new books and materials. Thank you for your support.”

  • Sitting Pretty with Seat Sacks

    Funded Oct 10, 2010

Thank you for your generous donation and support for this project. With these tools my students will become organized learners. They now have a space for their various school supplies which help them to become more independent learners.

With these seat sacks my students will take ownership of their supplies and will have a definite place for them. The seat sacks help my children to keep their materials in good condition because they have a place to store them neatly.

Once again I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to my Sitting Pretty With Seat Sacks Project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Comfort

Our Public School is located in NY. It is a Title I school and has a large minority student population from predominantly low income families. Our students face adult illiteracy, transience, and single parent families. Our parents cannot afford to buy the supplies needed, so we teachers buy the basic supplies such as pencils and crayons. These children try very hard to take care of their supplies but it is very hard when they do not have a place to keep them.
