I work with many students who struggle with basic facts and having calculators allows them to feel stress free and know they can still be successful with the concept being taught. Having a classroom set of calculators available would prevent my students from having to share. There are many concepts throughout the 6th grade curriculum where having a calculator would be helpful. Those concepts consists of percents, proportions, area, volume, surface area, and many more. In addition to being a great asset during testing, having a fully functional class set of calculators would allow my students to be more relaxed and feel stress free while working with a concept they’ll need to know in life. Every student deserves the chance to be successful in life and learn. Having these calculators would allow my students to have an equal chance. Please help us be successful. Thanks.
