Graduate in Style
Funded Jan 17, 2023Our 5th grate team greatly appreciates all of your generous donations! Because of your generosity, ALL of our students were able to receive an end of year graduation shirt. This was never the case in the past.
Previously, students had to purchase their own shirts. As a result, some students ended up not receiving one. We know they felt left out because the other students were so excited to wear theirs. We wanted to avoid this ever happening again, but the cost of shirts for all 150 of our students was more than we could afford on our own. That's where you came in!
Now, all of the students have their own shirt and they are so excited! They get to wear them on our end of year trip to SeaWorld AND many of them are having their friends sign them as keepsakes. It's been so sweet to see everyone so happy and unified. Thank you again!”

A Clean Classroom is a Happy Classroom
Funded Oct 29, 2020As a result of your generous donations, our classroom is cleaner and healthier than ever!
Our 5th grade team was able to purchase hand soap, paper towels, masks, and sanitizing wipes for each classroom. This has really helped us to create environments that will help to keep our staff and students healthy and safe during this pandemic.
As a team that switches classes, the sanitizing wipes have proven to be the most important need as we need to ensure desks are safe for each class and that requires cleaning between classes. And the soap and paper towels have really encouraged hand washing.
Again, thank you so much for supporting our classrooms and our students. We are beyond grateful for you!”

Funded Nov 21, 2018Thank you so much to the generous donors to our field trip project. We are taking our 5th grade students to Medieval Times as an end of the year trip. The experience will include a tour through a medieval village where students will experience and learn what life was like in that era. They will also have the opportunity to eat lunch while watching a real life jousting match!
As amazing as this opportunity is, it is a two-hour drive from our location. We must hire 3 charter buses for transportation with a total cost of $3,900. Add that to the price of the entrance ticket, and the students' portion is $85.00. As our school is a title one school, many of our students cannot afford this cost. We hate for them to miss out for funding reasons.
With the donations we have received through Donor's Choose though, we have been able to drop that cost to $65.00 per student! That is so much more affordable and as a result, we have many more students being able to attend.
Our team and students are so appreciative for this opportunity and we are thrilled to be able to share it with more students.”

Funded May 8, 2018Having the new laptops in my classroom has been such a blessing. I was able to purchase 2 laptops, 2 mice, and 2 sets of headphones with your generous donations.
I have roughly 70 math students split amongst three classes. With this large quantity of students, it was always hard to find the time (and resources) to have them practice on our online math programs. I had only 4 computers in my classroom so I had to prioritize students, which I hated to do. I wanted to make sure that all students had equal time on the computers to enhance their math skills. I often tried to have students practice on their home computers, but being in a Title I school, many students don't have internet access at home.
Since adding the 2 additional laptops to my classroom, I have been able to create a new rotation for my students and I'm happy to say that I have been able to reach more students with them. The online program they are required to use is very beneficial as it provides lessons to the students on their own individual academic level. It allows the students to build foundations that were missing so they can be successful in 5th grade. As well, it provides higher level material to challenge my stronger students.
There is also a secondary program I use that helps students who are not fluent with their multiplication and division facts. I have definitely seen a difference in their abilities.
The students were so excited to see the addition of the technology in our classroom. Everyone wants to be the first one on!
Thank you so much for supporting me and my students. I am forever grateful.”
