  • Mice for Computer Programming

    Funded Jan 2, 2019

Thank you for your support. Supporting our Mice for Computer Programming greatly made a difference in the lives of the children at my school. Students have been more successful at programming because of your generosity. We are using Minecraft as a collaborative platform and integrative course for all subjects.

Even though the MacBooks we use for Minecraft have a trackpad, we needed mice and you made that possible. Now students can more easily right-click to place blocks or open doors. In addition, when they tap on the roller ball they can clone grass to place in their world should they left click by accident and mine a hole. Success!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Narine

  • Little Engineers

    Funded Feb 17, 2018

Thank you for funding our project, Little Engineers. You provided us with STEM kits which we can use over and over to re-enact fairytales such as The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and, The Three Little Pigs.

Fairy Tales are traditionally read to and with students of Elementary school age. At times, students may be asked to draw their favourite part. Your donation of these STEM Kits, allows our students of all ages to go even further, and be, Little Engineers. The problem-solving skills involved in constructing the strongest bridge possible to escape the troll or a chair Goldilocks won't break when she sits in it gives students the hands-on experience necessary to test out their engineering skills.

Thanks for donating these items to our school. We are forever grateful.”

  • Take a Seat

    Funded Feb 17, 2017

What a wonderful thing it is for our students to be able to sit at a computer and get their work done. Thanks to you, this is possible. Our students are quite appreciative of your generous donation of chairs, and chairs with wheels.

Your kindness has not been overlooked. Each time a class visits the library they are in awe of how the chairs you have donated compliments our space. Comments have been made such as, "They are so comfortable." " I love that they roll." "Can we keep them?"

Thanks to you, yes we can. Each donation you make impacts the lives of students and makes learning more fun and engaging for each one. Thanks again.”

  • Digital Literacy Tools

    Funded Mar 4, 2017

Thank you for providing our students with the digital tools (headphones and mouse pads) needed to complete our computer set-up in our Library. These tools have made a difference in helping students stay on task and stay focused. In addition, they have helped to minimize the noise level in the room.

Students were excited at receiving these gifts and have promised to take good care of them. They absolutely love the color choice and the softness of the headphones. They said, "These new tools help make learning fun." We appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Narine

  • Recognize Me!

    Funded Sep 7, 2016

Thank you so much for gifting our school with lanyards, badges and badge holders. These supplies have truly made a difference in identifying students and teachers in our specialty programs. With the varying colours, we are also able to identify the groups by green, purple, yellow, etc. Students love lifting their badges to show what program or group they are a part of.

We appreciate your kindness and your dedication to teaching and learning at our school. These supplies can be re-used over time and was a great investment for the school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Narine

  • I Can Hear You!

    Funded Aug 26, 2016

Thank you for your generous donation of headphones for our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. Students had the benefit of using iPad apps to support instruction last school year, but no headphones. Students engage with online programming to improve their reading and math skills. At times the apps can be noisy. Headphones have aided in decreasing the noise level in the classrooms.

These are blue tooth headphones, paired for each iPad. They fit perfectly on each child's head and, without wiring, there are no wires getting in the way.

Headphone use with the iPad allows students to focus on the task at hand. The ability to record once own voice and learning is a powerful tool. These headphones have engaged students in their own learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Narine

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and one other donor.
Our Pre-K classrooms are outfitted with iPads, but no headphones. They engage daily with online programming to improve their reading and mathematics skills. Headphones will decrease the amount of classroom noise, allow students to focus on the task at hand and the feature to record will engage students in their own learning. Headphones with a built-in microphone will give students an opportunity to record themselves and listen back to what they have said. Not many classrooms do this. I've chosen a blue tooth head set because of the age of the students - less wires for added safety and greater flexibility.
