  • Center Learning!

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

I can't thank you enough for helping me get a kidney table in my classroom. It is so beneficial when I work with a small group of students. I am able to work with 7 children at one time when they need extra help. The children love the table and the extra attention I am able to give them. The children who don't need the extra help are always asking when are they going to get to sit at the kidney table. I promised them that in the near future I will do a special project with them so they can sit at our new kidney table.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Weinberg

  • Help Bring Remote Learning to Life with Magnetic Tools

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

    project 5142898

This school year has not been like any other. I am teaching 20 1st graders who are completley remote. They haven't stepped into a real classroom at all since March 2020. Thanks to Donor Choose my second bedroom was turned into a real looking classroom that I even fooled the parents with the wonderful materials I received. They thought I was teaching from inside the school and not in my home.

I use the bulletin board and and beautiful borders as my background. It displays our Fundations alphabet, number chart and welcome sign. Every morning we start the day using the wonderful calander that can be seen right behind me as I sit at my computer. The large dry erase board gets used everyday for writing and math lessons. I especially love using the magnetic sheet line board for writing so the children can see exaclty how letters and words are formed while staying within the lines. I also love the magnetic ten frames with dots for math to help my students better understand how we make 10.

If it wasn't for Donors Choose none of this would have been possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for eveything I have recieved.”

    With gratitude,

  • As we Grow, We Want to Know Letters and Numbers

    Funded Apr 19, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation towards our project, "As we Grow, We want to Know". The materials arrived yesterday and we opened the box this morning with the children. Their enthusiasm was evident as you can see in the photos. They couldn't wait to try each new game. Children were able to play in groups and self correct their work. They sat and thought and tried to see if they were correct. They worked independently as well.

We will be using these new games for years to come. We appreciate your kindness. You have made a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Weinberg

I have chosen a variety of musical instruments to share with my class. I tried to include some unique and interesting items to engage and excite them in the musical experience. I will use the bells, the blocks, the drums and the glockenspiel to create rhythms, tap out beats to songs and reach children through their sense of hearing and wonder. Music is a universal language and prekindergarten will enjoy these items while expanding their horizons in many ways. They will develop hearing and listening skills, they will communicate with their peers and they will be able to create their own music! Children will also be able to use the instruments during center time with their classmates. They will be able to choose the instruments as they like and make their own music together.
