  • Creating a Secure Testing Environment for Multilingual Learners

    Funded Feb 25, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting my project. This will help out over 300 English Language Learners across all grade levels in our school. We were in desperate need of new privacy folders for taking standardized tests and practicing English speaking activities. I really appreciate your donation and believing in my students and the students in my school as much as I do!”

    With gratitude,

  • Building Up Our Calming Corner: A Little Spot of Emotions

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I am incredibly grateful for the generous donation of "A Little Spot of Emotions" books and their corresponding plushies for my classroom's calming corner. Each book focuses on an important emotion or social skill—such as kindness, responsibility, patience, respect, honesty, organization, diversity, and safety—making these concepts relatable and easier for my students to understand and practice. The plushies are a wonderful, tangible way to reinforce the lessons, helping my students connect with their feelings in a safe and comforting space. These books will not only support my students' emotional growth but also foster a more empathetic, kind, and respectful classroom community. Thank you for providing such a meaningful and impactful resource for my students' development!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Elkins

  • Creating a Safe Haven: Storage Cabinet for Our Calming Corner

    Funded May 9, 2024

I hope this message finds you well and filled with the same warmth and gratitude that my students and I feel in our hearts. Your generous support towards our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) cabinet has left us profoundly moved and deeply thankful.

Your contribution means more than just the materials for our classroom; it's a testament to your belief in the power of education and the importance of nurturing the emotional well-being of our students at Broad Rock Elementary. Thanks to your donation, we are able to create a space where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. Our SEL cabinet, with its magnetic posters and resources, will serve as a safe space and a beacon of comfort and guidance for our students. It's not just a piece of furniture; it's a tool for empowerment, helping our English language learners and every second grader at my school navigate the complexities of their emotions in a safe and supportive environment.

Your generosity has not only enriched our classroom, but has touched the lives of every child who walks through our 2nd grade and 3rd Grade trailer doors. From the bottom of our hearts, my students and I extend our sincerest thanks for your kindness, compassion, and belief in our mission.

As we embark on this journey together, know that your contribution will have a lasting impact, shaping the hearts and minds of our future leaders. We are truly grateful for your unwavering support and look forward to sharing the transformative journey ahead.”

  • Storage for Our Crafty Organized Classroom

    Funded Mar 28, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my organization and storage project! I am so excited to get my things stored in a neat and secure way! Teaching in a trailer can be tough because there is no storage in our classroom. I resulted to storing most of my teaching materials on book shelves that didn't fit in the limited cabinet space provided by the school. Last summer, 2 of my personal bookshelves fell apart due to the custodians moving things around in my classroom to deep clean. I walked in this summer with all of my teaching materials that were previously organized strewn all over the room.

I am so excited that you have given me a safe and secure way to organize my teaching materials on wheels so it can be easily moved for cleaning. I have also purchased a few smaller locking cabinets to store a few other materials along with the items from this project. With 8 weeks left of school this year, I am excited to get cleaning and organizing and preparing my room for the rest of this year, summer, and next school year. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU again for supporting me and my teaching journey!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Elkins

  • Logically Engineering Our Way To The District Competition

    Funded Mar 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation to my after school Mind Games STEAM project. I have already received the materials, and we even got to use them to build a sailboat car with rotating wheels, a catapult to shoot gold coins into the cauldron, and a parachute to drop a peep from the school catwalk into the cafeteria. They learned so much about their designs as well as working together as a team. I have also been going through the logic puzzles in the books and tagging ones to use. I cannot express how grateful I am for all your help. Again thank you so much!!”

    With gratitude,

  • Bilingual Bookshelf

    Funded May 9, 2023

ALL of the students in my classroom have been loving the bilingual books. Students who are able to read in Spanish have lit up with joy with all the new books they are able to read in their native language. All of my students beg me every morning, when they walk in, to check out one of the books off the shelf. I've watched them read the books to one another, helping each other sound out the words in both languages. Even some of the parents in both ESL and non ESL families have come to read the books to small groups of students in the morning time while they finish their breakfast. Thank you so much for helping me to promote bilingual literacy in my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Elkins
