Expanding our Minds: Our Mission for Social and Racial Equality
Funded Oct 22, 2020This contribution was immensely kind an thoughtful. My students were thrilled to get books to use during this time of crisis. They were even more surprised when I told them it was a goft from strangers. Thank you for giving my class a set of books to hold and use. Not only will this set of books help this group, but it will help the next group of students in the coming year. Thank you for helping us during this time of need. Your kindness and generosity is a beautiful thing to show my students during this time of distress and uncertainty.”
With gratitude,

Funded May 10, 2018I greatly appreciate your support of our classroom. This has been an incredibly difficult year for my students both emotionally and academically. When I told them that strangers read about our class and wanted to gift us supplies that we can use, brought a smile across their faces. Since we have gotten the markers and notebooks, we have been doing more group activities and practice. My students especially like the team competitions to practice vocabulary and math facts. We use our whiteboards and the dry erase markers to make studying fun. The students also feel comfortable using their journals and writing lengthy stories now that they know we have enough journals to do so. An upcoming project will incorporate the use the journals, pencils, erasers and markers to put together posters of the of the book Unwind. My class has been reading the book Unwind by Neil Shusterman, and they are deeply invested in learning about the characters. The students will put their descriptions and ideas of each character into a visual format that they can be proud of and see in the classroom.
By providing our class with supplies, you have given us the opportunity to explore creativity through writing and artistry. My class is immensely grateful for your generosity and kindness.”
