I’m grateful for this opportunity to build my classroom resources. We are in a new room this year and have been creative in coming up with materials, but my students would benefit greatly from this project. My students really struggle with literacy skills. Most of them started the year far below where they ought to be in language and literacy skills. The items I’ve chosen for my project will help meet this need. The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs, Lakeshore Alphabet Rockets, and Alphabet Picture Magnets will be used during Small Groups to help students learn letter sounds. What’s the Rhyme? Sorting Houses, and Rhyming Sounds Matchups will also be used during Small Groups initially to build rhyming skills. Then I’m sure the children will enjoy them independently during their Work Time. I can’t wait to see them working together! The Snap-Together Letter Blocks and Alpha-Bots (Who thought of those? Genius!) will help build letter recognition, and the Ink Pads will be used with letter stamps I found at Salvation Army. The Echo Microphones, Chart Tablet, and What’s Happening Photo Cards will help build language skills during our Large Group meetings. Thank you so much for considering a contribution to our classroom! I look forward to sharing my students’ excited response to this generous gift!
