  • Magic Carpet for My Students

    Funded Feb 21, 2025

I cannot express the gratitude I feel having my project funded so quickly! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My students are going to be so thrilled to see a beautiful, new meeting space just for them!

Your generosity is appreciated and I know my students will enjoy this wonderful meeting place for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Penny

  • Begin Prepared!

    Funded Jul 29, 2023

My students want to thank you for your generosity. They were able to start the school year off with all of the supplies they needed to be successful. We are using the materials to create artwork, write amazing stories and learn many new things. The supplies you donated are making learning fun and accessible to all.

When my students arrived on the first day of school, they were so excited to see that each of them had their own pencil box filled with the supplies you donated. Many had never had their very own box of crayons before and were filled with gratitude. As we work on different projects, the fact that I have the necessary supplies is such a wonderful gift. There's no holding back on a project because we may not have what we need. You have prepared us for everything!

Our students just finished a storytelling unit where your supplies helped them to re-create a new story using a classic fairytale. We are now beginning a unit on maps and migration where you materials will help them craft maps and draw landforms. Your generosity is felt in every aspect of our work.”

  • Non-Fiction for Inquiry

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for the gift of non-fiction books you supplies to my students. We use these books to help us complete research on a wide variety of topics that make up our International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Student explore biographies during our "Heroes" unit and the "Who Am I" series of chapter books provide so much useful information and help my students learn about all types of heroes in the world. We also have units that explore consumers and producers in the economy as well as the production of the products we buy in stores.

These non-fiction texts are easier for kinesthetic learners to use than the computer as they are textile and allow these students the freedom to touch the books as they learn.

Students in my classroom read everyday. We have time in our schedule dedicated to reading alone or with a friend. I love to see students choose non-fiction titles during this time as they help provide my students with great discussion topics and build vocabulary.”

  • Every Child is an Artist!

    Funded Dec 2, 2021

Your generous gift of art supplies has helped my students discover that Every Student IS an Artist! The students use the supplies daily to create beautiful pieces of art as well as express themselves. We usually study a specific artist each month and these supplies have made creating art like famous artists a reality for my students.

When the boxes arrived to the classroom, the students were very excited to see what was inside. They dug into the boxes and passed out supplies to each other so generously. Many asked what the oil pastels were since they had never seen or used them before. They were all so enticed by the possible ways they could use these new supplies.

My students will continue to use these beautiful supplies to continue their study of famous artists. This month, we are creating a Keith Haring inspired art piece and the supplies will allow my students to be as creative as they want to be now that they have so many choices!”

  • Back to School in 3-D!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation of supplies. My students were so excited to see the boxes being delivered to our classroom. We had no idea we would received the supplies so soon. Now this year's students can enjoy some of the supplies as well as my students for next year.

These supplies meet specific needs in our school community. The skin tone crayons, markers and paper allow students to create art work where they can represent themselves and the people in their lives more realistically. The other supplies will serve many needs in the classroom including the ability to use fine motor skills to trace art with beautiful thin line markers.

The other supplies such as the pencils, glue and brush bottles will allow my students to attend to their work with excellent quality products that are designed for their smaller hands. Your support means so much to me and my students and we just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • Reading Together to Learn and Grow

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you very much for all of the wonderful books. My students have been able to use these books to research topics that interest them as well as their IB Units. Non fiction books are the best source of information for research projects and these books have been very valuable to build research skills.

Reading in my classroom this year is different than it has been in the past. Students have expressed interest in topics and I provide a book or them to use. We read the book together during small breakout room discussions. While it's not ideal, it is still very effective and the students benefit from having books available that meet their needs.

Our school is culturally diverse and the package of cultural forward stories have been so enjoyable to all of my students. Reading these books aloud to my students always generates great discussions among my students. Many students relate to the content of these stories and can connect to the text in a meaningful way.”

  • Ready to Learn from Anywhere!

    Funded Jul 27, 2020

Thank you very much for your generosity. My students have all received the supplies you provided and have been able to participate in all of our classroom activities using the supplies even though we are 100% online.

When my students received their package of supplies, their excitement was overwhelming. Many parents that accompanied their children to pick up the supplies exclaimed, "This moment is the first time they've been excited about school starting." The supplies mean that everyone is starting with everything they need and no one has to worry about a lack of supplies.

We are using the dry erase boards, markers and erasers daily in class to do quick math facts, take surveys, and do guided drawing. The crayons and markers are used each day to create beautiful illustrations to enhance their writing. The students are really enjoying art projects that require cutting and gluing because everyone has exactly what they need to participate.

My students, families, and I are so thankful to see the fruits of your generosity at work. I appreciate your support in this very uncertain and challenging school situation. Your donations have made my life easier and my student's lives more joyful. Thank you so much!”

  • Rockin' Reading Library

    Funded May 28, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation of our Rockin' Reading Library! My students have all begun reading in school for the first time and your donation has sparked their enthusiasm for reading. By having a leveled reading library, my students are able to select books that are appropriate to their specific reading levels and interests. This generates a desire to read more and thus creates life long readers!

My students select books to read during our Daily 5 time. Students choose their books and have build enough stamina to read to themselves for 10 full minutes. This is a huge accomplishment for a kindergarten class. Once they have found the book they want to read, the students find a comfortable place in the classroom to read. They must read the entire time, not move from their spot, and practice building their reading stamina.

Because the students are aware of their specific reading levels, the reading library creates a challenge for students to move up in their reading level. A student who is reading at a B level may see a book in the C leveled bin that is interesting to them and so they will challenge themselves to be able to read that particular book.

The Rockin' Reading Library has created a huge buzz about reading in my kindergarten classroom and we are so thankful for your support and generosity!”

  • The Amazing Modeling Easel for Interactive Learning

    Funded Dec 27, 2018

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation! When I received notification that my project had been funded, I projected a picture of the easel for all of my students to see. They were so excited to be receiving such an awesome and useful gift that they immediately began coming up with ways the easel could be used in the classroom. When the HUGE box arrived, the entire class jumped up and down and squealed with delight! It was like witnessing Christmas morning times 24! Thank you so very much.

The impact of having such an excellent tool in the classroom was immediate. Students were finally able to come up to the easel and write or draw on a board that was just their height. The easel has contributed to student-led teaching in collaborative group in a way we have never been able to do before. Because the easel is portable and easy to push, the students can take the easel with them when they work in their own small groups. It is really fantastic to have such a useful tool.

Because the easel has two sides, I can use the side with manuscript lines to more clearly instruct students with writing and due to the easel being low to the ground, the students are able to use it to practice their writing and show others examples of proper writing techniques. The easel is also simply fun to use. The students enjoy using multi-colored dry erase markers and creating large pictures as well as using it for math demonstrations.

The easel has really made a very positive impact on my teaching and in my students learning experiences. Thank you for your generosity and support of learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Penny

  • Making Marvelous Mathleates

    Funded May 9, 2018

My students and I would like to thank you for all of your donations towards this project. We have been using the new math resources each day and I can see how engaged the students are with the content because we have some new items to make the learning exciting! One of our standards is to teach students to see how many different ways we can use two numbers to make one number. The magnetic 10 frames and dots are making all of the difference in how the students experience this task. I have seen them grasp the concept so much faster than before - thank you!

When the items arrived in the classroom, the students were really excited to see what was inside of the box. As I opened each item, the cheers filled the room and my students couldn't wait to explore all of the new resources. It was like Christmas day, right there in the classroom.

I enjoy teaching students all of the math concepts they need to be successful, but I know that one size does not fit all when it come to learning. With these new math resources, I have been able to teach the same concept 10 different ways which has reached every student in the classroom. I cannot thank you enough for providing my students with new, exciting math tools that have enhanced their engagement and learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Penny

I teach an enthusiastic group of Kindergarten students at an International Baccalaureate school which emphasizes becoming well-rounded, global citizens. While we are diverse in many ways, as a whole, our school's population qualifies us as a Title I school. This means we have a large population of students who rely on assistance from resources like our free lunch program. My students share a passion for learning that fills my classroom with such a collaborative spirit! These young learners support and encourage each other in a way that inspires me! I want to keep their desire to learn and lift each other up burning bright so that they emerge from my classroom, ready to change the world!
