This set of five tablets will allow my students to access online reading programs geared towards their specific needs, while also providing enrichment opportunities for students on their "A-game." Students in my classes come from challenging environments and many do not have access to personal technology. On average, my 6th graders are reading at a 3rd grade level and require intensive individual or small group instruction. I have beginning English language learners sitting next to students comfortably reading at a 9th grade level in one class. These tablets will meet the needs of all my students! My struggling students will have access to ReadTheory, an online reading program that monitors, tracks and improves reading comprehension. My students seeking enrichment activities will be able to check out online subscriptions of Scholastic Magazines and follow current events through Newsela.
