I want my students to see a realistic future in the art field by making pottery. A lot of high school art students are not motivated to work hard in art because they don't see a future in it. Most students are not good at drawing and do not see a reason to invest effort. I think pottery will help students who are struggling in their core subjects acquire a feeling of success. My hope is that my students could potentially make a career out of making ceramics or use it as way to make money and set it aside to help them toward growing their savings fund for college.
