I want to try something new with this project. I recently found an amazing teacher online and saw two different projects that they have done in their classroom. The Merge Cubes and the Escape room. The merge cube is actually a toy, but it can also be used as an incredibly powerful teaching tool. Many students learn by doing (kinesthetic). The merge cube allows them to use technology with their devices and augmented reality to learn in a new and super interactive way. As an example, say you are studying the solar system. You can set the cube on your table or hold it in your hand and look at it through your device. It turns into the solar system. You can rotate it, click on each planet and get details about them or their moon, and even see the rotations around the sun. It literally allows you to hold your content in your hand. It works with every subject and is truly AMAZING! The escape room (consisting of locks and boxes) is the same model as the escape rooms people do all of the time, but all of the puzzles and riddles are centered around the content area. They will complete these reviews in a fun, interactive, engaging, hands-on, studentcentered, competitive, and rigorous way. These two projects would make the world of difference for my students. We would all be so grateful.
