The supplies in this project will provide my students with yearlong interactive vocabulary activities. Through use of a word wall displayed in the three column chart pocket chart, EL students will have visual reinforcement of the academic vocabulary needed for their language development. Students will be so excited to see new classroom materials that they can utilize! Having classroom objectives posted on whiteboards and accessible for student's to view throughout lessons, is important to reinforce the daily goals. When students can refer to the content objectives they make connections from their individual classwork to the end goal. Other items such as the electric pencil sharpener may seem trivial to some teachers. However, in a classroom of almost 30 students, having access to a quick and easy sharpener saves on wasted class time preparing writing tools. All of these items will help to enhance the learning of my sixth grade students.
