Scooting to Success!
Funded Dec 8, 2024The joy of seeing a yard of excited faces at just seeing new items to play with is such an amazing feeling as an educator. Just to be able to use their unstructured time enjoying themselves and then return to class and be ready to learn has helped improve attitude, growth mindset, and emotions. Recently, we were at school when our area experienced significant weather and fire, and subsequently were without power. We had just been delivered the scooter boards form this project, and we were so blessed to have them, because we had scooter board races in the dark all day! It was a memory the kids and I will always have!”

An Energized Engineering Space!
Funded May 8, 2023I first want to take the time to tell you how much it means that you support our tiny but might school. We have learned that alone we can not accomplish our goals, but need the support of our community to be successful.
The donations that were given to us in this project have revamped a room that was neglected and underutilized for years. We had no money or staff (or time) to create an Engineering room that was exciting and engaging. I took a leap of faith and thought I would ask the community to help us change this fact, and boy did you deliver!
We received many new and exciting activities that promote critical thinking and problem solving skills, in addition to 21st century skills. It gives students the safe place to create, design, plan, build, and imagine without judgement or constraints. This project actually opened up a bigger idea of making it accessible to all grade levels, and the planning has begun to make that happen.
Thank you again for thinking of us!”

Ms. Butler

Funded Oct 28, 2022I can not thank you enough for your donation to our school. We are a small school that represents a unique and diverse part of the community, and we are unfortunately often and easily overlooked. To be seen and heard by a donor such as yourself was an immense blessing. As a school community, we noticed significant change in our students mental health after COVID 19 and distance learning. Students are exhibiting high anxiety, lack of self -control, underdeveloped social skills, and a lack of prospective on their own abilities to be successful. We noticed right away that these issues are a huge impact on self development as well as academic success, and we set out to create new ways to help our students through this time.
Our Calm Room was created for our upper grade students who we identified as the highest needs due to being out of school the longest period of time. It is located in its own area, which is dedicated solely to the Calm Room, and in between several classrooms, making it easily accessible to all the students all day long. Students can ask to go in their when they have identified a need to, or a staff member sends them there to regroup and rejoin the class when ready. It has truly helped our students to feel more comfortable with being at school, and they feel cared for and understood, which has created positive and meaningful relationships in our school community.
Our Calm Room, thanks to you, has been a model for the rest of the school as well as neighboring schools. Our next step is to create one for our primary students.
Thank you for seeing our need at our tiny little school. It will never go unnoticed.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Butler
