Funded Jan 26, 2024

These text helped students identify facts and evidence to support claims when discussing topics related to DEI. Students learned how to access resources and advocate for their cultural communities by indulging in informational text in forms of primary and secondary resources . Students even had a chance to correlate the topics to content being taught in the social studies ELA partnerships during Respect for All week in Black History month . This impact was an added bonus for students to learn respect for each other's cultural differences . These books and resources were given out during Respect For All -Black History Month. Students learned the impact of the Gay Pride Flag and the importance of self advocacy . Student created a student campaign to support LGBTQ+ and community shares around BLM, and no phobias or bigotry propagated at the school and beyond . It was great to be able to allow students to share books with family and advocate for growth in their immediate communities . Supporting diversity, equity and inclusivity has been a big focus this year and we continue to support all the hidden voices .”

With gratitude,
