  • Help Us Save & Protect the Earth from Plastics

    Funded Sep 1, 2023

Thank you very much for helping our class to do our part to protect the earth and make a positive impact by simply switching to reusable cups and other reusable drinkware.

By using reusable drinkware we have been able to serve as models for other people to follow. One other class has followed our lead and our families have been doing the same. This has been one of the ways our class is helping to preserve our environment.

With the supplies you have provided us, we have been able to utilize the cups and wash them daily. The students love the red cups.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nagato

  • Books to Help Us Learn

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you for helping me to encourage my students to love learning and to love learning through books. The books provided really excited my students and have put smiles on their faces.

My students loved listening to stories read aloud to them on a daily basis. Their vocabulary has increased and now have a better understanding of what was read to them. The various activities such as the art projects and the various lessons have also contributed to their learning.

Thank you very much for your donations.”

  • Catching Up in Academics, Motor Skills & Social Emotional Development

    Funded Mar 4, 2023

My students had a blast learning and developing their skills through playing with the community helper dolls, various foods (healthy foods unhealthy foods), fine motor (putting together puzzles, building with blocks and doing art activities), social emotional development (learning problem solving skills and emotions) and motor skills (puzzles, building words with blocks). My students mastered many of their vocabulary, fine motor and speaking goals and objectives. They will be ready for kindergarten. I'm so excited for them. Thank you so very much!”

  • Catching Up in Academics, Motor Skills & Social Emotional Development

    Funded Oct 31, 2022

My students are having a blast developing their academic, fine motor, and social skills through playing with all the various materials you have provided us.

They have gained in their fine motor skills through the use of lacing vehicle beads and placing the train track together to roll their train on it. They are investigating ways to build shapes using the magnetic blocks. They are are developing in their social skills by learning to problem solve, play with each and to share and take turns through situations that come up while playing with the dinosaur tracks and the dentist kit.

Thank you so much for providing us materials to help my students to gain skills in academic, fine motor, and social skills.”

  • Let's Learn to be Creative through Art in STEAM

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

Thank you for providing my students with art materials that will help get them to get excited about the A for art in STEAM.

We have created an art center where our students can go to explore, be creative and express their feelings and ideas as every child is an artist at heart. We hope this is creating a place that promotes higher level thinking, problem solving skills, and is rich in vocabulary. Our hope is that through the art activities the students can learn and develop skills for all learning domains (language, literacy, math, science, social studies, fine motor, gross motor, and social skills). So far it has been a fun place in the classroom that allows our students to create freely.”

  • Materials to Support Learning

    Funded Mar 6, 2022

Thank you for providing me the supplies to help create fun and engaging learning activities for my students. Learning through art projects, work jobs, and hands on activities created excitement for my students. The white board helped me to present lessons to my preschool aged students as they are highly visual and hands on learners. These materials have enabled my students to move forward in their academics, creativity and social and emotional skills as well. My students are a happy bunch!

    Thank you so much!”

  • Developing Language Skills

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you so very much for providing us the opportunity to help my students with their communication skills. Through the use of physical movement activities provided, I was able to help my students to improve in their receptive and expressive communication skills. The use of building with the large cubes, wagon rides, playing with bubbles and riding toys motivated and encouraged my students to use their language skills.

My parents were pleasantly surprised their child was able to describe their feelings, share their experiences, make requests and make choices verbally. The parents were so happy to communicate with their child.

My students are ready for Kindergarten!”

  • Embrace Your Differences and Similarities

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you for support in providing me materials that will help to educate my students about diversity. I recently did a lesson on "All About Me". In this lesson I discussed the differences and similarities such as hair color, skin color and eye color and that it's okay that we have these differences.

The goal for my students to learn to be kind, respectful, to know that it's okay to be different and to learn that in the different culture there will be differences, but they are equally important.”

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

We started with discussing the color of our skin and eyes and then the foods from the different countries that are grandparents were born. I'm hoping with this lesson they will begin to understand and to embrace the differences in themselves and others.

Thank you for helping me to set up my students to become successful and happier people by providing me with wonderful resources.”

  • Activities to Support Learning from Anywhere

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

We're are back to school again for in-person learning. When my class returned they were so excited with all the new materials. It has been so great to send home materials that support in class learning for language arts, math and fine motor skills. This has given our students the opportunity to practice skills learned in school from anywhere such as home or waiting for a sibling to finish soccer practice. Parents have been very happy and excited to see what their child is able to do academically and do with their fine motor skills. They have been able to see them sort by insect and practice their fine motor skills through art activities.

Thank you very much for providing my students! I am so grateful!”

I would like to create a physical environment that helps meet the educational and behavioral needs of individuals with autism or developmental delays. Very young children or children who have trouble understanding language would also benefit from some of these strategies. However, it is helpful to have knowledge of some common strategies that have been shown to make a positive difference, specifically in the areas of focus and following directions or routines. A distraction free and structured/predictable environment is most conducive to learning and behavior for kids who can become easily distracted, overwhelmed by too much input, have visual perceptual difficulties (e.g., may have trouble visualizing where they are supposed to sit, where their area is in the room is), or kids who have trouble understanding what is expected when given verbal directions (such as those with difficulty processing language). Students with autism or developmental delays can become overwhelmed or overstimulated when presented with too much visual and tactile (things you can touch) information. so it is important to keep the environment as clutter free as you can. Try to have a specific place for things (e.g., toys in a bin, papers and pens in a drawer, etc.) Closed containers on shelves, can be helpful to not be distracted. Keeping materials in book shelves in closed labeled bins, in a certain area of the room (as mentioned above). Label the bins with words and pictures. Have a schedule, written and visual, to allow students to know when they will be using the different areas and what they will be doing throughout the day, and refer to the schedule as your students move through different activities. One way to visually define a student’s space is to use cushions or mats when sitting on the carpet.
