As an ESOL teacher in a diverse school community, I service over 60 kindergarten and first grade students who speak Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Jamaican Creole, Romanian, Mandarin, French and Krio. ESOL students are often faced with many challenges, however, these scholars are unique individuals who are eager to learn and never give up. What I admire the most is their ambition, creativity and hard work! These attributes are what drives them forward and helps make them successful as they acquire language.
