Chicka Chicka ELC
Funded Nov 17, 2020Thank you for your donation that provided my students with a set of magnetic letters and numbers as well as a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book to use at home during our remote learning days. The students are using the magnetic letters for alphabetic awareness, spelling their names and names of family members as well as simple words. They are using the magnetic numbers for number recognition as well as creating simple addition problems.
The students were very excited to receive these items to use at home. I often receive pictures of the students using their materials during their at home learning days.
Thank you again for your donation to my classroom. My students and I truly appreciate your generosity.”

Funded Dec 12, 2019Thank you for the donation to purchase our "Light Table Fun" items. Learning with a light table is a fun way to let our littlest learners play to learn. Activities on the light table encourage students to explore the areas of literacy, math and science. Our light table manipulatives allow for exploring the properties of color and light while building skills necessary for Kindergarten and beyond. The translucent letters, numbers, pattern blocks, color chips, building cubes and nature slides are perfect for our 3, 4, and 5 year old students to explore in a fun and exciting way. We have seen students "write" their names, learn how to "make" secondary colors and "see" a honeybee's eye, fish scales and cheetah fur up close!
Thank you again for your donation to our classroom. We truly appreciate it!!”

Funded Apr 14, 2018Thank you for the donation to purchase our book nook read alouds with CD player. Language and literacy tools are for thinking and communicating. A children's library with books on CD provides the perfect opportunity for pre-K students to become successful thinkers and communicators. When children enjoy having books read to them and when they are excited about what they are hearing and learning, they become motivated to learn to read and later, read to learn. The more children hear their favorite books being read, the greater the likelihood that they will learn new vocabulary words. An expanded vocabulary is linked to higher achievement in school because the children are exposed to a variety of books and have the opportunity to hear read alouds on a daily basis.
Thank you again for you donation to our classroom. We truly appreciate it!!”

Funded Apr 1, 2018Thank you for supporting our classroom with your donation. Our students enjoy going to our listening center to listen to books on CD. A listening center is a cozy spot where children can hear their favorite books on CD. Students are given the opportunity to work independently while cultivating their love of reading. Fostering a love of reading is a skill we work very hard to instill in our youngest learners because we want to help ensure success in school. Our listening center helps our students share materials and work together.
Thank you again for your generosity!”
