Today's kids live in a world where technology is a common tool for communicating, playing, and more and more often, learning. In most classrooms around Massachusetts, each child has access to laptops, desktops, or tablets. They can access Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, math game and programs. My kids do not. We are working hard every day to learn math skills along with the rest of the state, but we fall behind in computer skills. Along with my regular education students who need computers, we also have a large population of English Language Learners who are learning not only how to speak social English, but also academic English. To help them increase their mathematical language, I'd like 5 Chromebooks for my classroom to allow my kids the same access to technology as the rest of the kids in Massachusetts.
