  • Si Se Puede, Learn English!

    Funded Mar 7, 2024

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to contribute, towards "Si Se Puede, Learn English!"?! With the awesome medals and certificates, I was able to provide our English language learners in our afterschool program a medal and a certificate that reflect the hard work the students exhibited not just in the afterschool program but during the day! Students felt proud of their accomplishments learning English and receiving these medals and certificates made it a little extra special!

Our end of school year afterschool program was a great hit because of these supplies! Parents also felt proud for the recognition of their child's hard work!

Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!"”

  • Snacks to Track!

    Funded Jan 29, 2024

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, towards "Snacks to Track!" I have been able to supply my students with yummy snacks every day since I received the tons of boxes with snacks. As I am writing this thank you or impact letter, I still have 4 bins full of snacks! Yes!!!

When I first received all the snacks, I could not believe the amount of snacks that came in. I began to picture my students choosing the snacks I know they would love! This motivated me to organize the snacks accordingly and plan purposefully for the time of the day to provide the snacks. The student's faces with the enthusiasm when they see the snacks really brings comfort and joy to my heart as well. Many of my students come from a low income home and the parents can not afford a snack. Usually my students tend to get hungry an hour or so after their lunch hour. This is the time I provide a snack for them in order to provide that extra support to continue to keep them on track!

I have noticed that my students have been working even harder to complete their work thoroughly as they see snack time as reward time. I assure them always that time is "let's stay on task time!" Again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pacheco

  • ASL, ¡Si se Puedé with iPads!

    Funded Aug 3, 2018

Our ELL students cannot thank you enough for your generosity. The iPads have been a welcome addition to my instructional approach and the ELL students love them!

The iPads have allowed me to work much closer with students and focus in on their individual language needs. Students have played educational language games, looked up images for vocabulary words and even created a superhero movie utilizing apps on the ipads. Student behavior was also impacted by the ipads, students are so excited to get the opportunity to use them that it has become a part of the reward system. Overall, we cannot thank you enough for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

English Language Learners who are also Deaf and Hard of Hearing learn through visual models like videos, pictures, and animation. Often, our students struggle with comprehension because they don't have the experience or a mental representation of a word or a concept. When this happens we might use a computer to look up picture representations, but this process is usually not individualized, due to lack of equipment. We hope that the addition of iPads will allow us to expose our students to more vocabulary and more concepts, which will help to assist their overall learning. iPads will afford us the opportunity for individualized learning in grades k-5. Students can work independently on IEP goals related to literacy, math, grammar, or speech and language. iPad apps are generally fun and vivid, which our students require for motivation and unique learning styles. Students able to work independently will also allow us to make smaller groups to target areas of need for more effective instruction.
