Help me give my students the opportunity to participate in a school-wide book club with high quality award winning books! Help us grab our State Jr. Book Award Nominees!
Because of your generosity, my students have access to a text they would never had been able to read. It is because of you that they are exploring a world that is completely foreign to them and learning compassion and empathy. My students are also learning about the writing techniques of a memoir and why the author chose to craft her story as she did. Thank you so much for supporting my students! Within the next couple of reading sessions, they will be writing their own comparison/contrast response and engaging in research that will extend their thinking and learning. Without your support, none of this would be possible!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Peters

Thank you so much for your generous support of the students in my classroom! My students are working hard learning and practicing skills and concepts each day! Your support will help them practice the skills and concepts using our Iready system to grow and master the skills they need to be successful students!”
The students are so excited about the new green screen at our school. Many of them did not even realize what a screen screen was and so they are learning about visual effects and how those effects can enhance their presentations! We had to start small because even their teacher is learning about this technology. However, the possibilities are endless and the students are realizing that there are so many options available to them just because of a simple green screen.
Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness!”
With gratitude,

The "Apple of My Eye!" project will provide opportunities for me to use a wide variety of instructional strategies with my students. An iPad in a classroom creates a learning environment with few limits and acts as a gateway to new and emerging technology. My students have experience with the web, but need experience creating new content as they learn. This project will enable students to create videos, podcasts, and video journals to record their learning and track their academic growth.
In the next few weeks, students will be involved in their very first inquiry-based learning project. They will have to read a book and create a research project simultaneously. This technology will enhance instruction by providing students with a device that allows them to access the web and apps that will be used to enhance their research presentations, access multiple types of resources (web and app based), and cite resources. Students will also gain valuable life experience navigating the web safely.
Students will also use the iPads in the classroom to access websites that assist their learning by accommodating learning differences. Students who struggle with reading will be able to have text read, words defined, as well as the text explained to them. This assistance will help students read more fluently and gain more confidence academically. High-achieving students will be able to access material and activities that push the limits of their learning.
The teacher will also use the iPads in small group instruction by providing interactive lessons and activities that allow students to inquire about different topics. Today's teachers are expected to provide instruction that is personalized for each child. Having these devices will enable me as the classroom teacher to meet each child where they are, provide instruction specific to their needs, and ensure academic success!
