  • Bad Guys for Good Rewards

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Bad Guys is a fan favorite in our building. We are often asked when new copies are going to be available in the book vending machine. We were so excited to receive these books to share with our families!

Our kiddos are excited to read about their favorite characters. It gets them talking and sharing their love of reading with both families and other students. We promote our book vending machine as a way to engage families in reading together all types of literature. Literature that excites students is the best - and we love that our families can continue to read books together with your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sayre

  • Books for Rewards

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you for all your support - our kiddos got so excited when these new books came in! We put them into our vending machine and our younger friends went for them right away!

Our students love picking up their favorite characters with Pigeon, Piggie, and Elephant. Thank you for helping provide our students with books to expand their own home libraries and share reading with their families.

We are so grateful for these books and know that our students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade picked up these books to share. We had students gladly show off all their books to their friends and staff members once their earned enough to buy them.”

  • New Supplies to Inspire

    Funded May 12, 2024

Thank you for generously supplying our classroom with materials we use daily. Our new white boards are used by almost 75 kids each day to practice spelling and writing. I share a room with another teacher, and we both use these materials with our groups ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade students.

Our students will be excited for new graphic novels added to our shared reading library. They enjoy these books and we are excited that even our struggling readers are taking more risks to read these books.

We also received scratch and sniff stickers to reward our students with as they reach their reading goals. These simply motivators work wonders with students! Than you for making our classroom a little bit better with your support.”

  • Covers for Harsh Lights

    Funded May 10, 2024

It has been amazing! We've been in back to school for 3 weeks and we have had so many comments about how lovely the covers are in the room! We had extras cover so we were able to share them with several classrooms and our counselor.

The kids are delighted to see trees and clouds when they look up. The light is much calmer in the room and we haven't had issues with glares.

Thank you for not only helping our room have a little bit more of the outside inside but allowing us to share it with other teachers in our school.”

  • Graphic Novels as Rewards

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

A giant thank you for all your support - I am so excited to tell you that our book vending machine is super popular with our students. Our young readers snatched up the spiderman books as soon as they went at the end of the year! We're excited to offer our older readers a chance to earn the book As Brave As You in the vending machine after they read it as a class. Last year we ran out of copies, so we are glad to have more this year.

Both older and younger readers love the sports graphic novels and they were a poplar request to have back in! Thank you for helping us give over 1800 books to our students last year through generous donations to our reading departments projects to fill our vending machine! Our families love this creative way to promote reading, and with your help we aim to keep it up for many more years.”

  • Rewards for Positive Behavior

    Funded Apr 26, 2023

Our books arrived at school and our kiddos were so excited to read a book about Tacos! Books about food are always exciting. With our older students we were able to talk about the different ways tacos were made and some of our favorite foods.

After previewing our books, we were able to put them in our school vending machine. Our students will be able to choose one of these books to keep at home. We are excited to give students calming strips to keep at their desks. Our students are already thinking about where they want to place them. We are combining the strips with our PBIS system, it works great with actively planning with kiddos.”

  • A Space for Everyone

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Our kindergarten classes have been enjoying these wonderful rugs for a few months now! We had so many kiddos that we had to add another class so now four different kindergarten classes use these two rugs! Our kiddos are able to understand personal space and have a dedicated space of their own at circle time.

Thank you for your generous donations that allowed us to give our teachers this helpful resource. The students were excited to get these special rugs that they use daily for story time, calendar, math, music and letter name/sound review!”

  • Graphic Novels as Rewards

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

We are so excited to add these wonderful graphic novels or our school vending machine. Students can choose a book to keep as a reward for being good citizens in our school.

We love being able to fill it with books that the students ask for - giving them the power to select the books in the machine entices them to continue to work hard!

With your generous support, all our students get a wide variety of stories to explore. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade take these books home to share with their families. We know a love of reading is shared at home and our community will continue to reap the benefits!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sayre

Our students work in very strict programs, with little choice, to help build their reading skills. By having chrome books, we can offer our students choices. Choice in presenting their ideas, choice in elaborating on classroom themes, choice on how to improve their individual needs - fluency, comprehension, sentence structure, word choice, decoding, encoding, rhyme, etc. Our students will have a way to respond to prompts and assignments in exciting ways using technology to boost their self confidence. Special digital tools like Google classroom, flipgrid, prezi, voice thread and others will give students options beyond paper and pencil to explore.
