Using a die cutter with various shapes is an integral part of any elementary school. Teachers need them for their bulletin boards, students need them for art or other projects, and specialists (such as counselors, speech therapists, or reading interventionists) need them to facilitate tactile and visual learning styles. Currently, our school has only a manual die cutter with very limited pattern options. Our school counselor has run out of patterns to use for her "Kindness Tree" bulletin board, for example. This bulletin board is a vital aspect of encouraging students to practice random acts of kindness, as when students are seen being kind they are given a leaf, flower, or other shape to decorate and put on the "Kindness Tree." Additionally, this style of die cutter is incredibly time and labor intensive. Teachers already face limited plan time during the day to grade papers, make phone calls, and prepare lessons plans, and this machine would give teacher the ability to create personalized, unique, and striking classroom and hallway displays in a fraction of the time. Our school is also very lucky to have an incredibly creative clerical aide who is in charge of most of the main bulletin boards and displays. Her artistic touch is what makes our school beautiful and inspiring. This machine would give her the ability to let her creative vision expand, flourish, and grow.
