This Chromebook will make such a huge difference in my ability to give my students a differentiated approach to reading. With the addition of this Chromebook, I could effectively plan activities that best meet the needs of my lower level readers, as well as my EL students who need additional practice with vocabulary. We use programs such as MyOn and MobyMax, which allows children to choose books that interest them and are within their reading level. These programs also read the book aloud, while highlighting the words; this feature aids in comprehension in such a way that a library book cannot. I would also love to do more with writing, by allowing students to type their stories, revise, edit, and print them. I believe this would give them a sense of ownership of their work, knowing that their writing will be typed up for others to read, verses just sitting in their journals. There is only so much you can do on paper; technology opens up a world of additional resources for teachers to utilize! It would be such a blessing to have this Chromebook in my classroom!
