  • Incentivizing Learning

    Funded Mar 3, 2023

Thanks so much to RTR for your generosity and support to our earth science classroom. Our students will benefit greatly from these resources purchases through Teachers Pay Teachers and be more likely to attend tutoring sessions because of the incentives. We can't wait to see how the tutoring session attendance and engagement is impacted due to the snacks and activities purchased.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • Computer Love

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. This has been such an asset to me while virtual teaching. The computer will allow me to both monitor my students and their work at the same time. It's the perfect combination because since it is a separate computer, the network strength is not disrupted due to having many open windows. I was able to login to my work Microsoft account on the computer which has allowed me to access apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Additionally, it has greatly helped me with attending virtual meetings and planning. It has made lesson planning so much easier as I am able to see various resources at once. I appreciate you all so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • Effective Virtual Teaching Environment

    Funded Aug 10, 2020

The additional screen has helped me tremendously. It has allowed me to monitor my students in the google meet and their assignments in google classroom simultaneously. The wireless keyboard and mouse have allowed me to navigate the computer at a faster pace without the worry of my laptop mousepad glitching. My students appreciate the fact that I can share my screen to display a timer, or google classroom and also be able to view and monitor the chat to answer questions they may have about assignments. With so many electronics, the surge protector allows me to have all of them plugged in for usage.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

  • Physical Science and Biology Scientific Investigation Lab Kits

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

I'd like to thank you all again for you generosity and commitment to ensuring that students have the necessary resources to receive inquiry based learning. When my students first saw the materials they were so excited and appreciative that complete strangers to them cared so much to donate money. So far we have used the prepared slides in biology class. We just completed our cells unit where the students viewed different organisms using a microscope. They provided both qualitative and quantitative observations as they viewed a minimum of 5 slides. They absolutely loved the lab.

In January, the biology students will use the monohybrid butterfly kit and the gel electrophoresis kit as we learn about DNA and genetics. In March, the physical science students will use the circuit boards as we learn about electricity.

I can't express my gratitude enough to you all. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jones

Manipulatives are highly effective on student learning and these lab kits would give them endless opportunities. The monohybrid kit would allow my students to germinate seeds and study inheritance over three generations of plants. The gel electrophoresis kit would allow them to use biotechnology tools to analyze DNA. The circuit board kits would allow my students to study applications of electricity by manipulating the various components of circuits. The microscope slide would allow them to view specimen from various organisms. I am developing our future STEM professionals which requires engaging and tangible activities through inquiry based learning. Scientific investigation is an extremely important skill that enhances critical thinking and problem solving skills.
