More than three-quarters of the students at my school come from low income households. Parents are not able to provide students with the tools that they need. These materials will impact my students in such a positive way! I have chosen wiggle seats, modular seating, knee pads, and laptop stands. Wiggle seats allow students with disabilities such as ADHD to move around and have movement while still in a seat. Modular seating is a great alternative to regular hard back chairs. These seats allow students to sit in a variety of ways. Knee pads allow students to set on their knees at a kneeling table. I also have a standing table in the classroom for those who do not do well sitting in chairs. My older student do a lot of their work on their computers. The laptop stands allow student to sit in their chair and work while not being at a table. They also can be used to sit in the floor and work. These materials will be used in an EC resource classroom. Students will learn and grow in their studies by giving them different options to release energy and help them better focus. Each child is an individual who learns in a different way. My hope is to find options that will work for each of them!
