Having students feeling that they are heard is an important part of their learning every day at school. Many students do not have the confidence to make their voice heard, especially while wearing a mask. Children are naturally more comfortable when they are playing. A microphone that students can toss, roll, and pass to friends will give them the opportunity to play while learning and being engaged. The Qball is a throwable, wireless microphone for classrooms that looks like a ball students would toss on the playground. The main benefit of the Qball is it helps encourage student participation in classroom discussions. The Qball adds a kinesthetic touch to classroom conversations, Socratic discussions, and moments when a whole or small group of students come together to talk about their learning. Students also have independent work where their headphones guaranty the ability to focus and not be distracted by noises around or outside of the classroom. Having their own pair of headphones will cut back on sharing and provide them with accessibility to use them in each class at school.
