Fidget Frenzy: Transforming Focus with Sensory Toys in Our Classroom
Funded Aug 8, 2024I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation. It has made a tremendous difference in helping my students adjust during the first two months of school. The sensory tools you've provided are invaluable for their breaks, transitional periods, and moments when they need to release sensory input to refocus on their academic tasks!!
I'd love to share a wonderful story about how my students are using the rubber bands attached to their chairs. During our phonics lessons, we gather in a circle on the rug, and each chair has a rubber band on the two front legs. This setup allows my students to kick their little legs whenever they need to release some energy during the lesson.
Instead of getting up to run around the room, they can now get their wiggles out right in their seats! This not only helps me with classroom management but also provides them with plenty of opportunities to stay engaged in these important lessons. It's been a game-changer for our classroom dynamics!
Thank you once again for your incredible support. I truly appreciate your kindness and generosity. Dave and Kolleen, I love you both so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Eleni Katechis
Justice, Understanding, and Love Through Literature!
Funded Nov 17, 2020The read-alouds about justice, understanding, and self-love have had a profoundly positive impact on my students. By introducing stories centered around justice, the students gained a deeper appreciation for fairness and equality. These narratives helped them understand the importance of treating everyone with respect and standing up for what is right. The discussions that followed each read-aloud allowed students to express their thoughts and feelings, fostering a classroom environment where every voice is valued and heard.
Understanding was another crucial theme in the read-alouds, which helped my students develop empathy and compassion. Stories that focused on different perspectives and experiences enabled the students to see the world through others' eyes, promoting a sense of connection and community. These books served as a gateway for students to discuss their own experiences and challenges, leading to increased peer support and a more inclusive classroom atmosphere. The emphasis on understanding helped reduce conflicts and encouraged collaborative problem-solving among the students.
Finally, the read-alouds about self-love played a significant role in boosting the students' self-esteem and confidence. These stories emphasized the importance of accepting and loving oneself, regardless of differences or challenges. Through engaging characters and relatable scenarios, the books inspired students to appreciate their unique qualities and strengths. The positive messages about self-worth helped students develop a healthier self-image and fostered a supportive environment where they felt comfortable expressing their true selves. Overall, these read-alouds have enriched my classroom by promoting justice, understanding, and self-love, contributing to the personal growth and well-being of each student.”

Write, Punch, and Bind!
Funded Mar 27, 2018This writing a book station has provided my students with the ability to create books independently. This station has become a huge hit! Students are wanting to write books on their free time, instead of playing games. My students, of all abilities, are writing books based off their personal interests. This has created an environment of hard working readers and writers. Our students are creating, publishing and sharing their books to the class and to their peers. We have 4 new books added to our library already!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Help Us Print, Print, and Print!
Funded Mar 20, 2018Thank you for your generous donations. That have and will continue to make a huge impact on my classroom. My students are already receiving the differentiated work they need plus even more! Our center work has grown throughout the day. We now have enough ink to print out several center projects for so many different groups of learners per day! We were unable to complete this without your generosity. In the next three months of school, my co-teacher and I are expecting to see tremendous growth in academic ability in our students. This is possible with the tailored materials that is provided to them daily!
Again, Thank you!”
