Wiggle - Wiggle - Wiggle - Yeah!
Funded Jul 31, 2024My students and I could not be more grateful for your generosity! We had one set of these Bouncy Bands Wiggle Wobble Chair Feet at the end of the last school year. For how well my students responded when they got to sit in the "special" chair, I quickly made a Donors Choose to try and get a class set.
When they came, it was like Christmas! I had two students who helped me put them on my front table chairs. They loved being the "testers" to make sure they worked :) They also liked being the leaders so that they could tell the other students about them. In each class, we took 2-3 minutes to show how to use our new tool appropriately.
This is so wonderful for my students because its accessible for everyone - no one has to be singled out for needing to move. Also, because I had more of the Bouncy Bands Wiggle Wobble Chair Feet than students in my small group learning support environment, I was able to give a set to a few of my student's general education teachers so that they could also be supported with the Bouncy Bands Wiggle Wobble Chair Feet in their general education environment.
These materials have made my classroom such an amazing place to be!”

Sensory and Smiles with Shoup!
Funded Aug 9, 2022We can not thank you enough for all of the materials to make our classroom that much more special! To have a sensory room for the students to use has been invaluable. We spent a few days learning how to use the room appropriately - it is a place where you can go to calm your body if you need a break or if you need some quiet space to yourself. With the timers, they are a vital part into our classroom. Not only do they keep me on time, they help students to know when one activity is over and another is going to begin. Every week we use the wipe off clear folders to practice our spelling words for the week - in the photos we were using them to circle patterns on a hundreds chart.
When my students first saw our classroom (we hadn't had a room to use in about three years) their eyes lit up. They immediately ran for the sensory room to explore. We had to learn how to work all of the lights to turn them on and off when needed and not to stick the sensory rings in our mouth :) Each week we continue to be thankful for all of the love you have shown our classroom. We appreciate your generosity very much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Shoup
