• Smart Snacks for Smart Students

  Thank you all so much for your incredible donations that helped nourish my students during their long stressful days of state exam testing! I made each student a baggie filled with snacks and treats for each day of their ELA and Math state exams. They were able to snack on granola bars and have peppermint and fruity lifesavers to give them boosts of energy. They were so appreciative of all of your generosity! Since my students have the last lunch period of the day, these breakfast bars and snacks came in so handy if they forgot to have breakfast or missed school breakfast. It gave them a little pick me up to focus back on working and not how loud their stomachs were growling. Thank you for helping me support my students!!”

• Fostering a Love of Reading

  Thank you so much for your very generous donations. My students are so excited to take turns reading all of the new books we received. Many of my students enjoy reading and escaping into a good book at home on the weekends. They also read independently in homeroom and for homework at times to use specific skills. I've had students fly through some of the books so fast!

  My students take the skills I have taught them to breakdown the stories and understand and analyze the characters and breakdown parts of the plot. These books have given some of them an outlet at home that they so desperately need. Thank you for your generosity.”

• Warming Hands And Hearts

  Thank you so much for the necessary winter essentials that my students did not have!! They were so excited to receive them and wear them to keep them warm and safe during our cold temperatures. They even asked for some for their siblings, which I was able to give some as well!

  My students are so grateful for your extreme generosities! They were all so excited to get new gloves, hats, umbrellas and warm wishes for the holiday season! Thank you again for warming my students heads, hands and hearts!”

• Building Reading Confidence Through Culture

  Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students couldn't wait to start reading the new books! Some one them even read them all weekend, so they could read a new book the following week! Many of my students had these books on our class wish list, so they were super excited and some were surprised that total strangers helped make our library more complete! My students will use these books to break down elements of a story, such as character, conflict, the use of story maps to break down the story. Your generously did not go unnoticed! • Artistic Expression Through Literature

  Thank you so much for you generous donations to my students! My students were so truly excited to see what supplies came for them to use. They were so excited to see so many colored pencils to choose from! They have been using the art supplies to enhance our lessons and activate engaging work periods.

  The worked together on a hands on lesson that let them explore in depth, the characters from the novel The Outsiders. They completed character analysis for each one of the main characters from the novel.

• Spark the Joy and Love of Reading!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to supply books for my students. They were all so excited to open the box and find out what books we received. Watching the students receive new books, was like watching the excitement of a child on Christmas.

  Many of my students struggle with reading. These books will hopefully spark and encourage them all to read more. My students are so excited to have a turn to read these books.

• Help Us Illustrate and Express Our Creative Side!

  Thank you so much for all of your generous donations to help create a more creative outlet for my students. They were all so excited to receive the pencils and sketch books. My students couldn't wait to open our gift and start drawing.

  One project that my school has been working on is a cultural mosaic. Each student was given a planning page to research, interview their families and express their own cultural identities. They then used their sketch books or paper to sketch out their ideas and pictures that represented them. Each student was then given a small canvas to sketch and paint their piece of the cultural mosaic. When all of their canvases are completed, they will be hung all together through out every hallway, to create a cultural mosaic, representing each and every individual student in our school.

  The gift of sketch books and art pencils for my students allowed their creativity to soar. They love taking a few minutes every now and then to escape and create. Thank you so much again for your generous donations in allowing my students to be able to draw, sketch and express themselves creatively.”
