Little Mathematicians!
Funded Aug 9, 2022We are so excited to be using the materials you so generously donated! We are currently using them in multiple capacities such as small group intervention classes, whole group support in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as Acceleration Days our district provided where these wonderful materials traveled to a neighborhood school and impacted students there as well! One moment that stood out for me was when I was interviewing a pair of students who were using the materials to count and to enhance their mathematical understanding, one student turned to me and said, "I love counting these bears! Thank you for bringing them to my classroom!"
When I first began using the materials, I saw the students' eyes widen in excitement as they realized they would be allowed to touch and use the beautiful new counters and were motivated at once to begin their mathematical journey for the day.
We will be continuing to use these wonderful materials as we go through our mathematical journey. This project has impacted ALL the students at my school across the grade levels and will continue to do so for years to come! Thank you!”

Funded Sep 2, 2020It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I write to inform you of the impact you've made with your donation. The laptop you helped fund is at the center of my students' learning. Each and every day it is used to communicate, lesson plan, grade, as well as find and use various websites my students will learn from and enjoy. Before this, I couldn't have multiple tabs open and ready for the day's many different activities via Zoom. However, with the new technology, I have every window open and ready to go for lessons, brain breaks, assignments, and examples. This eliminates time lost due to freezing and memory issues, while keeps the students engaged in the flow of activities.
The most exciting part of the day for my students is when we do our P.E./brain break activities. They love getting up and dancing and exercising to various songs, which don't freeze on them anymore! Another exciting activity I'm able to do with them thanks to the new laptop is playing Kahoot! Kahoot is a game we play every Friday to review the week's lessons. You've made a HUGE difference in the learning of my amazing 3rd graders and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Mrs. Gregori
What?!? No Technology? It's 2014!
Funded Dec 4, 2014Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! My students were so excited when the iPad arrived. They knew that their education was about to take on a whole new level!
The iPad has made a great impact in the classroom. We use it for many things. I was able to download great apps such as BrainPop and BrainPop Jr. With these apps, we are able to view educational clips/videos on any topic we study in class like Math, Science, History, Health, etc. The students are so engaged with these videos and it reinforces the content read during class.
In addition to the apps, we use the iPad for research. The students wrote biographies and were able to research through the iPad to collect information and to create the famous figure using Google Images to look up what they looked like. Parent volunteers have also used it as they work with students and need information or a visual for the students to understand the content better. In addition to all these uses, I, as a teacher use it to plan instruction. The Common Core standards has an app that I use for planning as well as other apps to create engaging lessons to maximize student engagement and learning.
Thank you again for all your support. You really have made a significant difference in my students' lives!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gregori
Ready, Set, Read!
Funded Jan 25, 2012Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom! My students are thriving with the purchase of the reader's theater scripts. They are excited about reading and can't wait to get their hands on the next script. We use the scripts during our Language Arts Centers/Rotations 4 times a week. The scripts are one of the centers that the students visit and read together, practicing their fluency and comprehension skills.
As a teacher, I have seen the benefits of these materials as students gain independence in reading, are engaged with the stories and plays, and their reading has improved. One set even has built in comprehension questions that the students use to test each others' comprehension!
It is heart-warming to see their eyes and faces light up as they work together on these tasks. They have not only helped my students in their reading skills, but in their collaborative group work skills as well, as they share, work together, and have discussions about these readings.
Thank you again for your donations. You have truly made a difference!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gregori
