This project is about creating a space where our kids can find inspiration. By creating a more uplifted space, these kids can feel they are worthy and deserving of good things. Giving low-income students access to a new and uplifted environment is an investment in their future and their ability to envision something better for themselves. The kids in this school and classroom come from the most economically disadvantaged community in Rhode Island. This project would significantly help develop my students' understanding of possibility and inspiration. In providing flexible seating and desks, we will be giving these students the ability to work creatively with their sensory motor issues. By providing a more mobile and uplifted space for these kids they will be more engaged in the learning process.
