As my students enter a new year, things are looking very different. My students are used to changing classes, leaving the room throughout the day, and even going on frequent field trips. Due to COVID-19 my students only get the leave the room for 30 minutes a day to go outside. They do not get to switch classes, go to the lunch room, or go to related arts. Everything is brought to them and with that being said, they are visibly getting anxious easier than usual. Their disabilities already cause extreme anxiety, and now that we have added a family-style classroom into the mix, the day gets interesting. My students are having to walk around the classroom just to move around a bit. I have added two rockers to my room, but I have SEVEN students, so the math is a bit unequal. I am hoping to all the ball chairs for my students to have when they are restless, anxious, or just need to move!
Anything is greatly appreciated and I know my students will LOVE it!
