  • Let the Learning and Fun Begin: Digital Graphic Design

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity to my project. The students and I are going to have so much fun learning graphic design and using the designs on various items. Without your donations, this project would be not possible at all. Again, thank you for your act of kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. White

This classroom project was brought to life by The SONIC Foundation and 4 other donors.
  • Expressing Creativity Through Visual Art

    Funded Nov 14, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my art project. The art supplies will allow my students to express their imagination and artistic talent in creating beautiful pieces of art. Without your very generous donation and support this would not be possible. My students will be so excited when the new art supplies start arriving.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. White

This classroom project was brought to life by Livia and Biz Stone.
  • Inspire Creativity Through Cultural Art

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

I am so excited my project was completely funded and I get to immerse my students in art activities, especially Native American Cultural art. I cannot thank each of you enough for your kindness and generosity. My students love art day and will be so thrilled with the new supplies, and I am thrilled to be able to show them how to beam on a loom, make traditional baskets, corn husk dolls, and leather pouches. It will be an amazing experience for my students to learn about their culture through art. Again, thank you for giving my students the opportunity to express their creativity through visual art.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. White

Basic art supplies are needed to help my at-risk students be successful in completing the fine arts credit needed for graduation. The art supplies will be used to introduce my students to different mediums and support them in the completion of various art projects to enter in contests and to showcase at parent night in the spring. More than 50% of my students are Native American (Cherokee) and a portion of the art supplies, I am asking for are to engage the students in culturally traditional art projects such as beadwork on a loom, basket making, and leather pouches. The art materials will provide the students the opportunity to express their artistic ideas and to develop an understanding of their Native American culture through studying the history of the art projects they will complete. My students will utilize their knowledge to defend why certain media is used for a project or by a culture and use multiple approaches to begin creative endeavors. By funding this project, you will be helping my students, become well-rounded individuals. The arts are essential in the development of the realms of human behavior which include the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual aspects. Access to the arts prepares my students to be creative, inspirational to others, and critical thinkers. Creating visual arts is essential in helping my students through the pandemic-impacted learning they have had to experience the last few school years by relieving stress and lifting their spirits. When students are emersed in creating art, their minds are stimulated, they embrace mindfulness and experience feelings of accomplishment and pride in their completed artwork.
